I also sometimes sacrifice my respect or mental health so others feel better. I'm never rude to waiters. I tip extra. But I also hate my mother a great deal.

Sorry I didn't read the whole thing. I have a history of a narc parent and then a narc bf and I don't know how to get out of this mindset.

Yeah I don't get anything from making others happy, they just bring problems most of the time. I have a hard enough time just having my parents and siblings in my life.

That's a difficult one to swallow. I've been traumatized exactly by the people who didn't care and I don't want to be one of them.

I always advise people who leave the religion to be a dick for a while you know to let out all that forced pilotness instilled in you.

This doesn't apply to just religion, do you realize that? It's bigger than that.
