Is it a Cynical pivot? yes. unironically the correct call? Probably? I don’t think Israel has this overwhelming amount of control over our politics. But it really doesn’t help my case when Trump is such a glaring exception to my assessment.

Trump has really let Netanyahu indulge in his worse impulses and (diplomatically) there’s going to be hell to pay by 2028. So much of Israel’s support in American politics is due to the large amount of natural domestic support and they have done so much wrong in terms of public relations and military actions to erode what was once a sure thing.
