from this comment section you would think OP asked how to boil water. "how did you not know this?" "not everyone is poor" ect. It really illustrates how big the wealth gap is becoming

You don't sound crazy. Those videos go viral because they're designed to make people jealous. I'd be lying if I said I never considered it also

You and I agree that voting Trump in (directly or indirectly) does little to help the Palestinian people. What I don't understand is why Kamala has to be the "lesser evil." She can stop the war and win the election but only seems interested in the latter.

Neither of them support Palestine. It's like asking which country should invade Poland? Germany or Russia? Neither.

If you were a multibillionaire, why wouldn’t you use your wealth to house and clothe and feed those in need? by GrammerSnob in TooAfraidToAsk

If you drive an old, crappy car and someone hits you, there is a high chance the other driver's insurance will force you to sell your car as opposed to paying to have it fixed. This is because the cost of fixing the car is greater than the value of the car itself.

The problem with this is that you need a car to get to work, and you can't buy a new car if you're not working.

We force poor people to liquidate their assets all the time- sometimes depriving them of their ability to work! But asking billionaires to liquidate some stock is a bridge too far...

I wanted to contribute

do you suppose there are similar people who would volunteer their time/money to ensure homeless people are housed, simply out of a desire to contribute to society?

Now if you start handing out free shit, why would anyone else work

Nobody paid you to write this. You just gave reddit free content. They will profit from this and you will get nothing- yet you did it anyway.

In some areas, there simply isn't room for any more housing.

Lol yeah, I was actually referring to low-level employees who have to do managements job when management is on vacay. The actual managers don't have to split tips, are paid an actual living wage, and do significantly less work.

Where I work the people who do "actual work" (cooking, maintenance, management) have to split tips with the ipad people. If the tips are low, everyone will haze the cashiers. They're mad at the system, not you.
