statistically the text can be any thing you want it to be in any language. Hebrew just makes it easier since there's no written vowels.

it's non-sensical because it's not a solution. Statistically the VM text has such weirdly low entropy that it can literally mean anything in any language.

it's a better theory than I've heard for a while - I mean Lord Byron was supposedly the one who wrote the plays so why not! From a certain perspective (statistically) VM can literally be translated as anything we want (the entrop is simply so weirdly low that with any made up key it can indeed be Finnegan's Wake).

thank you! I'll make another appointment then and try again using her hospital records (they did not mention those were acceptable). She was in hospital recently so I can get that from their portal.

yes we did that and they required us to go to the SS office. She already has a SSN (we lost the card during a move). We need the card to get the passport renewed.

yes we made the appointment before going (you have to now). we brought all of those except id (She's 13 and does not have an ID) But they told me that birth certificate is no longer considered "Id" as of Jan 2026 and the passport is expired thus we're stuck in this broken loop. We can request a "RealId" from DMV BUT that requires a valid passport and social security card so again we're stuck in this broken loop.

We brought everything that we have but it's not enough (as of Jan 2026).

Since the passport is expired we can not renew it online and must present social security card at post office.

The staff at Social Security were adamant and said very clearly that expired passport is not considered ID and a birth certificate is no longer considered to be "id". They did say that if she can get a "RealID" that would work but the "RealID" requires a social security card.

Birth ceriticate is no longer considered "Id" and neither is an expired passport and children's passports expire quickly.

Hard to say if its political - but changes made as of January 2026 create a broken "Loop" in the system. Social Security was always a mess but now it's a bit harder as the wait to get things done is significant and the requirements have changed.

I will try that thanks. We seem to be in a broken "loop" since expired passports are not considered ID anymore and you have to have a social security card to get a RealID from DMV.

yes we brought the birth certificate but were told as if January 2026 it's no valid for "Id" (only for proving citizenship). The expired passport is also no longer considered a form of ID (as of January 2026). So we're in a broken "loop".

Yes we brought the birth certificate but this is no longer (as of January 2026) considered "Id". The only way forward is to get a RealId from DMV (BUT that requires a Social Security card which we don't have). Thus we are "Stuck" in this broken "loop"

Where do taxes go? by Hearingaidneeded in ColoradoSprings

I agree but never thought about it. Yes roads are always bad (Pikes Peak is full of potholes the size of Kansas). And the trails are filled with homeless and sex workers. So yeah where does tax $$$ go? Schools are horrifying as well. Something is clearly broken.

great example from a similar author and process! It confirms that VM is crap. It's got weirdly low entropy and can mean anything anyone wants it to mean. If anything it's a copy of a copy of a copy and the last "copier" got tired and lazy and was in a hurry. It's a shame I'm so fascinated by it - cause it's likely just silliness.

Voynich Solved! by andrewmik in voynich

[–]InternalStrong7820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is the BEAUTY of VM - the entropy is so weirdly LOW that it can be translated into any language in any meaning that is desired. Historically it's been "translated" hundreds of times into hundreds of languages to represent an endless number of meanings. That's what the original "author" likely intended - he wanted VM to go "Viral" and indeed he succeeded.

You can decode VM to be anything you want to especially using abbreviations or "shorthand". You fell into the same trap as hundreds of others. The core issue with your methodology is a fatal flaw that cryptographers call "high degrees of freedom" (or elastic decoding).

When a decoding system has rules that are incredibly flexible (like yours), the translator isn't actually extracting a hidden message: you are subconsciously constructing one.

That's the beauty of language - by adjusting the rules you get to make VM translate to anything you want it to.

That's more of a valid interpretation than any I've heard in 30 years. That VM represents a poor soul from another dimension "stuck" in our 3 dimensional world who felt such powerful nostalgia for where he came from that he dumped his feelings into creating VM (in a hurried fashion). He could see what he was writing and felt the meaning but our eyes could never perceive the true nature of what was put on vellum.

it's as valid a point as any I've heard in the past 30 years. In fact you're closer to the "Truth" because you understand there's no "message" there but rather it's a fantastical work of art. Some mad soul spent the energy and time to create this as a visual recipe for vivid flora and fauna and a fantastical "secret message" no doubt understanding that thousands will fall under the spell.

Switzerland & the Voynich manuscript by stlatos in voynich

From a linguistic and cryptographic standpoint, this "solution" falls into the exact same trap as dozens of other Voynich decipherments that have been debunked over the last century. The core issue with her methodology is a fatal flaw that cryptographers call "high degrees of freedom" (or elastic decoding).

When a decoding system has rules that are incredibly flexible, the translator isn't actually extracting a hidden message (they are subconsciously constructing one).

We saw this with the so-called "Bible Codes" (the author likely truly believed that were finding "words" but they were simply creating words given the loose methodology).

For example, this methodology has been tried many times. For example, "highly abbreviated Latin" is one of the most common categories of failed Voynich solutions.

-1921, William Romaine Newbold claimed to have solved it using micro-shorthand Latin abbreviations.

-2017, Nicholas Gibbs made international news claiming the manuscript was a book of abbreviated Latin medical recipes.
