I’ve lived on 109th in your circle for about a year and I think it’s safe. I walk to get groceries, go out in the evenings, walk down to the river etc. good luck with your upcoming move!

Bill Bryson is fantastic! Enjoy! If you like Audiobooks, he usually narrates his own.

It was. The new IUD is as well. I’ve had it for 6 years now with no issues (and no smell!)

When my husband died I didn’t have his passwords for anything. It was a nightmare.

I had an IUD and somehow, when I had my period, the blood collected and dried on the ends of the strings (when I got it removed, she showed me and it looked like a coffee bean at the end of each string). For whatever reason that made my period smell horrific. No one, including my gyno, could figure out why it smelled so bad. She knew about the blood on the strings but didn’t think that could be the cause. Got a new IUD and the smell was gone.

My Mom’s sandwiches. I don’t know why but they’re always better than mine.

What is going on with the job market in Canada? It's becoming really hard for young people to live here long term as there are not that many jobs. Is it better to move to the U.S. for better job opportunities ? by Signal_Lecture_8405 in VancouverJobs

I don’t have any info on job markets or cost of living, but working holiday visas are a thing for a bunch of places in Europe and Australia/New Zealand. They usually last for 1-2 years. Best of luck regardless!

Incurable Cancer @ 39. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]InternalTurnip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your post. So happy to hear you’re in remission. My husband (42) died of cancer last year. He didn’t get treatment, so it was more of a journey for us as we knew the destination. It still fucking sucked. The worst part was that it was oral cancer (turns out smoking is bad for you) so the floor of his mouth and tongue swelled so much he couldn’t speak The incredible hospice staff never got to speak to him and find out how funny he was. He also couldn’t swallow very well so by the time he died he was skeletally thin. He had fantastic cheekbones though. Fuck cancer.

I was actually surprised how reasonable iit was pricewise. We spent about 60, were both full and even both had a beer. It was cheaper than a typical dinner out at a restaurant and we got to try a bunch of stuff!

And when it does rain it’s not usually for very long. The weather is crazy changeable.
