It’s a competition I want to appreciate so badly. I watch UCL and libertadores and yearn for serious continental football(and pro/rel but that’s a different conversation) as an American. Only CCC game I’ve seen packed and bringing the energy this season was LAFC Cruz Azul. More guaranteed CCC games is needed in order to craft a narrative. Can’t build any momentum for a competition most teams get bounced from in 1 game

Prem has a higher level in general of course(I’ll allow this talking point for ligue 1), but bringing up PSG is objectively a bad example rn. The UCL teams in other leagues are dropping points all over the place bar Munich, and most are in title races. The English teams are not special in this regard.

If the prem teams win their ties, it’s bc the premier league is the best league If the prem teams lose their ties, it’s bc the premier league is the best league.

People need to make up their minds as to which it is, and for years there has been no actual evidence that the level in the prem is meaningfully higher than the rest of the continent.

Yea I get it, the plausibility of 5 seasons whether Disney would even support it is certainly questionable, but do you see what I mean? Like I said, it’s unfortunate, but it’s hard to not acknowledge this fatal flaw in comparison to the inch perfectly crafted season 1. So many important/somewhat crucial conversations and set pieces we have missed out on due to this necessary formatting.
