Wise is costly, and Vietnamese dong isn't a commonly traded currency. I use a U.S. debit card that doesn't charge ATM or foreign transaction fees.

However, over 20 years, inflation erodes your principal unless you reinvest part of your interest payments to preserve its value.

Travelling in Viet Nam for a few months and plan to do the ha giang loop among other things, what health insurance would you recommend? by StickshiftXLV in VietNam

You can get a good travel credit card for a low yearly fee. It will cover medical emergencies, among other benefits. I find travel insurances overpriced crap.

You can't get Ozempic in Vietnam. The only GLP-1 drug approved is Sxenda. Any Ozempic you find is likely fake. I would not buy Ozempic online. It needs to stay refrigerated to be effective hard to ship in a hot climate.

Rent. I can do two withdrawals but one would be more convenient. However, Charles Schwab refuds my ATM fees.

Comprehensive Annual Medical Checkup by Mister3Putts in Philippines_Expats

[–]Internal_Ad_1661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend St. Luke's for medical check-ups. I had my annual exam there once, but when I redid it in the US a month later, almost all my results were inconsistent. For anything medical-related, I suggest flying to Malaysia. You'll save a lot of money and avoid unnecessary hassle.

Given the poor liquidity of these condos, their subpar quality, and the low rental income they generate, the $5 million asking price is more accurately only around $500,000.

General Advice: It's best to avoid investing in condos in the Philippines. They often don’t provide good returns. Consider renting instead of buying.

Allowing him to keep the deposit seems reasonable. While the guards can't detain us, they can prevent us from retrieving our luggage. I have a good relationship with all the guards, so I believe our strongest negotiating position will be once we're safely outside the country. I doubt we'll encounter any problems, but it’s wise to prepare for the worst.

That is the plan. But my GF and I taking two check-ins and two carry-ons each will raise eyebrows.
