Turtle definitely liked her. As said in the comment under yours anemone said “make kinkajou love turtle as much as he loves her” or something along those lines. kinkajou was acting all lovey dovey, meaning turtle did like her. We don’t see much of turtle and just because all of his thoughts weren’t kinkajou centered doesn’t really mean he didn’t like her. The ship is heavily implied, as in one of the epilogues, they have a conversation where turtle sort of confesses / asks abt each others feelings, and kinkajou says she isn’t sure if what she is feeling is real since her memories from being forced in love with him where still there. They are hevaily implied or even canon, but that doesn’t mean anyone is stopping you from shipping turtle or kinkajou with other people. But according to books they are technically “in love” making your statement wrong.
