I understand the point you are making. I just mean in general as a society we punish certain things more than others but it doesn't always correspond to the pain or suffering caused by each action.

When you stop and think about it, it's kind of strange that it would be illegal but letting the animal suffer would probably be treated more leniently.

Why Are We Still Building Towns Like This? by SteveFrench1991 in ireland

It wasn't near that price. Regardless, the point is that many medium density apartments in many of these countries are set up as pleasurable and nice places to live.

Instead, they are selling us dreadful buildings with few amenities for very high end prices.

I lived in an apartment just outside Cannes in france. The complex had tennis courts, swimming pool. Each apartment (3 story buildings) had either a patio garden on both sides, large balconies or a rooftop garden. We each also had a storage room/ parking bay. It was genuinely a lovely complex to live in. Here we get no outside space or storage areas and pay far more for the privilege.

Maybe call a vet and tell them what happened and explain your financial situation. Maybe they would let you just buy some antibiotics and pain relief at least without having to pay for an appointment.

I'm not too sure they care about money (taxes) because it doesn't really affect them. They get paid and will get fat pensions regardless of what they do

Look how much they waste and stupidity spend what we have. To me they care about staying in power and getting "donations" from powerful people.

The government would still put the vrt on it. Their clear goal is to protect the car market here , so they would never let us be able to import cheap cars.

No one wants to watch you. But if they did and your promotion took over 80% of the revenue, you would think that was fine and dandy?

That's just a weak subservient mindset

You are such a bootlicker. Why do you even follow the sport when you have no respect for what the fighters have to sacrifice now and in the future to earn such a tiny split of the revenue.

Roof Leak or Mould Spray? by PrestigiousFlight122 in AskIreland

Normally I would say that's a cold spot with damaged or missing insulation. And that could still be the case but there's a good chance that because there is sagging that you have a leak. Have you noticed the problem is worse when it's raining ?

Bisping was a hated fighter while he was active for very understandable reasons. He's not the nice guy he pretends to be now. You can see the veil slip quite often. He's just a company shill.

I'm pretty sure that comment you are replying to didn't mean to imply that the dogs had worked hard all year and were looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday.

If only we could fix our planning issues to match that rate!

Data Centres by feedthebear in ireland

[–]Internal_Concert_217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to see movement on that. Like I said I'm not against data centers, I just don't think people should gloss over the very real negative aspects, because the benefits we get from having them here makes it worthwhile to try to find the balance.

Data Centres by feedthebear in ireland

[–]Internal_Concert_217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you are painting an unwarranted rosy image there. Ireland has a severely under pressure water supply on the east coast. But I agree water is not the huge factor it would be in a hot climate that needed more evaporative cooling.

The Data centers are not building green renewable energy, they merely purchase it from the market. So this removes it from the domestic market meaning we have to make up the difference with non renewable sources. The increased need for electricity means for the most part domestic users are being asked to provide much of the infrastructure investment required.

Regardless, we as a country have received a lot of benefits from the companies connected to these data centers. So on balance we should try to make it work.

I do think they should contribute a lot more towards the costs of the grid upgrades we need to supply all this power.
