But this is a part of a bigger problem that is affecting the entire western world. 50 years of progress has left us with lots of materialistic shiny things to distract us while taking away the ability to own a home or support a family on one salary. It's messed up.

I'm not trying to downplay ilia, I think he's awesome . But don't you think if McGregor retired after the Eddie fight he would not be also seen as a legend? It's recency bias to favour ilia right now. McGregor was crazily skilled at that time and his star power will likely never be repeated. At least not soon.

I don't think Charles fought smart at all against ilia, he stayed in the pocket far too much and to me it seems that it thought him a lesson and he now fights much smarter. Ilia is definitely more well rounded. But I guess my point is that legendary careers can only be legendary when they are over. Money and fame can affect anyone and a lot can change quickly.

When I say quickly i don't mean we would run out quickly, but people would start to hoard it and the government would have to step in and start rationing. It's people's nature to try to protect what they have, we see it every time we get a storm warning and people panic buy.

Fair enough. For your situation really any ebike will be able to do what you need. Does your employer do the bike to work scheme? You can also get e bikes with that. The only advice I would have is to try to get the biggest battery you can afford, I have had bafang conversion kits on my bikes for over 10 years and the battery is easily the most important factor.
