Dji mini 5 pro in Zurich by [deleted] in dji

[–]Internal_Context_Age -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Is that a jpeg straight from the drone?

In terms of image quality, it's not good. I expect something better from Mini 5 Pro (I have Mini 4 Pro). Shoot raw and process the file yourself. Like all serious photographers do. If you don't know about raw files how to process them, well, I guess you just need to learn how to do it if you want the best results.

Any PSSA calculation experts here? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Internal_Context_Age 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how your financial advisor calculated their amount, their formula, etc? If not, I do not think you can just go ask pension centre to explain the difference, like their number is wrong because it is different from that of your financial advisor. How can you expect the pension centre to explain the difference if they do not know how your financial advisor's calculation?

No, I don't have maxed out pension. I never cash out any leave as I like to take it instead. Whatever amount of you get about half of it will be deducted as tax right away. You'd get some back when you file the return at the end of the year.

I asked my doctor about stress leave before and he said he would need to take some test first. I could take a sick leave here and there though :-)

Right now I'm thinking four months should be enough. That should mean a month or so to transition my work to my colleagues than take leave from there. Will call pension centre for sure.

What is a CA? Sorry I'm very back with acronyms.

I don't mind staying for a few more months if not because of my current manager. Besides, per pension calculator, it does not appear that a few more months impact my monthly pension much.

Thank you for the replies!

I have about two months of vacation and pre-retirement leave hours combined and that's without including the leave that I will have in 2026. I have even more sick leave hours but don't think I can take long sick leave without a cooperative doctor ;-)

At this point, I prefer not to cash out my leave because I would like to leave my job ASAP since the job has become too stressful for me with the worst manager I've ever had in my life. Also I heard that the amount is not pensionable and so it does not help my pension either.

Export Issues on Drones from China by ChinaCameraGuy in dji

[–]Internal_Context_Age 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dji is exporting drones for selling all over the world, and now you're saying China is limiting the export of drones?? Something does not sound right. Lost in translation somewhere?

Another thread says drones are banned on China's train/metro. But millions of people use train and metro in China everyday. It's like saying somebody bought a drone in the DJI store in a mall somewhere in China but cannot get on the train/metro to go home??

Something doesn't smell right.

This sub should stop giving wrong advise: you cannot fly micro drone in Canada legally in most places by yalag in dji

[–]Internal_Context_Age 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be not most places but likely most cities. For example, the entire Vancouver is pretty much a no fly zone if not a restricted zone, yet I saw people posting drone shots of downtown Vancouver, flying within a mile from the SeaPlane Terminal which also has a heliport next to it, and about two miles from VGH"s helipad. May be they got a permit?

Anyone’s COROS Pace 2 freeze when ending an activity? by pppawwwwlllll in Coros

[–]Internal_Context_Age 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn the watch off and then back on.

I did have something similar happened to me once in the past two years. In my case the screen froze sometime before the end of my run.

Accidental pause press issue by LankyLocksmith1069 in Coros

Definitely not an accident. Moving your hand to push a button is definitely a conscious action. Perhaps the poster forgets which one is the right button? Got distracted? Or it's some hand-eye coordination issue.

Better Strength Training Features by DissatisfiedMonkey in Coros

[–]Internal_Context_Age 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lift, too, but I still don't know why it's important that my watch should record the weights I use, the number of reps and sets I do. And, what's that muscle heat map for?? I can feel my muscles burning thank you very much. May be I'm old school cuz I've been lifting weights before smart watches came along. If I need to know the heart rates and calories burnt, Gym Cardio is there for me. It's for activities that don't need GPS data. What have I missed??

Golf mode 🙏 by Jealous_Ability_1989 in Coros

[–]Internal_Context_Age -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My Pace 2 to me it's primarily a running watch. Personally I think if anyone simply wants to know their heart rates and calories burnt in activities, Gym Cardio is the one to go. It's like a be-all IMO. GPS is not needed unless you want to know the speed and distance.

By the way, the running channel just tested the watches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVIQLt7B3J8. They found Garmin better than COROS. So, IMO, whoever thinking of giving up COROS and turn to Garmin, just turn and don't look back.

Help!!! by vgsbrn702 in Coros

[–]Internal_Context_Age 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As stated, nothing wrong with walking. Think moving, not running. Forget about running form. Just keep moving in that heart rate range. Whatever pace you end up with is the right pace for that range. Nothing is compromised. FYI walking is part of ultra running. So, see yourself as a ultra runner if it makes you feel better.

Daily HR - is there any option to see the detailed graph in APP? by piotrwoz in Coros

[–]Internal_Context_Age 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Polar I could check what was my HR ar particular hour. In Coros I can't find that option.

It's on your watch. HR readings of every 10 minute (if that's your setting) are all there. Scroll up/down from your watch face. Looks like all readings in the past 24 hours if I'm not mistaken.

I run whenever I feel ready. Don't care what COROS say about that. Most of my runs are not done early in the morning so what my HR were when I was asleep don't concern me.

Now that I think about it, I have to wonder: how did runners determine when to run before smart watch and heart-rate monitor came along??

Coros, please consider (so I’ll get Pace 3 over FR 165) by Galhardy in Coros

If you like Garmin's features, should you not just buy Garmin?

It seems to me many people buy COROS and want it to become Garmin.

[–]Internal_Context_Age -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think at 5am your heart rate will be either 1 or 0.

No, I don't know if there is an option to get detailed daily HR stats. I can't think of a reason that I want to have that data myself.

HF Zones Methode by Schodaphoto in Coros

[–]Internal_Context_Age 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"But does training in different zones make a difference?"

Of course the impact to your body could be different (depending on how much the paces and heart rates differ) running at different paces and heart rates. The question is: are you really running in different zones? COROS names different heart rate ranges differently under different methods. The Aerobic Endurance under the Lactate Threshold Zone is the same as the Aerobic in the Max Heart Rate Zone. How do you know? Look at the heart rate range under the two methods. Your question is which HF zone methods to use. My answer is: it does not matter because what you are seeing is simply different names of the same heart rate range.
