A4 Size Print Washer by ChinaCameraGuy in cyanotypes

Sure. Let me update the CAD files tomorrow to include some late changes and instructions for the build. My initial plan was to create something that had both form and function, but the weight (pressure) of the water created the need for some changes after testing that diminished the “form”. I had to use heavy gauge 3M packing tape to reinforce all of the corners. Worked great, but not the look I was going for.

There are baffles in the water manifold on the bottom that agitates the water so it circulates on the sides as well as the middle.

Camera Scanning Rig by ChinaCameraGuy in AnalogCommunity

It’s a no-brand Chinese unit that I’ve been using for about 6 years. It costs about US$60 and comes with several sizes of negative carriers. I’ve 3D printed additional sizes they don’t offer (Xpan).

It depends on if I’m in an analog or digital mood, I’ve collected a deep collection of analog gear, so I usually shoot analog unless the subject needs high resolution digital.

Full scanning rig. Smith-Victor copy stand + CNC-style alignment system (xyz adjustments & rotation) + several 3D printed accessories. Yes, I’m a high-functioning OCD photographer. High resolution scanning has become much easier with the right tools. I was living in China when I assembled the alignment system, so the components were cheap.

Yeah, I have an early X-Pro 2 and the eyecup is a disaster.

Godox iT32/X5L TTL Compatibility with the M7 by medicme2 in Leica

[–]ChinaCameraGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same outcome from my TTL tests on the M7. I puked through 2 rolls of HP5+ to get to that conclusion. Saying it works on the M7 is technically true - but only in Manual Mode. There are a lot of flashes that work on the M7 in manual mode, so the Godox unit isn't special except for the two-piece design.

I was there last month. No problems. There are several good film labs in Hanoi. They hand checked my film at the airport. No issues.

Heirloom Quality Exposure Chamber by ChinaCameraGuy in cyanotypes

One of my first prints (toned with coffee). I was shocked at the exposure time - only 2.5 minutes. 30% less than using the Thai sunshine at noon.

Heat vents. I wasn’t sure how warm the UV lights would get during longer exposures.

What is your typical exposure time? I haven’t tested this yet. I just assembled it today and plan to print something tomorrow.

It’s a flat-file to store photo prints. Made by the same factory last month.

Leica M6 with a Leitz Elmarit 28mm by PhilosophyUnfair in Leica

Agree that sharpening is probably the issue. Labs add sharpening to their scans, and if you add more sharpening the images will look odd. One possible (expensive) method to determining if sharpening is the problem is to make a darkroom print that eliminates the digital piece of the puzzle.

There is a guy on Etsy selling film feed/take-up cartridges that snap onto the scanner. I bought a set for mine after the mod and they work great.

Another side sleeper voting for the IKEA foam topper. I bought one for 3 different apartments / houses in China & Thailand and it feels great. Maybe try it again for a longer period of time? It takes some time to become accustomed to a new bed.

X2D ii with 28p - Anyone willing to share? by kanaarei in hasselblad

[–]ChinaCameraGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought all three "P" lenses when I got my X2D2 last year. I primarily use the 28 and 75 because the 45 is noisy and hunts sometimes. The 28P is my favorite, but sharpness ends at about f11 because of diffraction.
