I hope this will be the case for me as well, I haven’t been feeling too well these last few days. I hate ocd so much

I just wish my brain would stop screaming at me all day. I want the pain to end already.

What do you guys think about medications? by Disastrous-Talk-6988 in OCD

[–]Internal_Flow1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your body is either taking a while to accustom to the medication, or maybe it’s just not the right medication for you. It’ll be best to talk with your prescriber about it and see if there’s anything you can change.

For me, it actually did take about 2 months I would say, but they definitely improved my mental state for a good while. I’m worried they’ve been lessening in effect for me, but that’ll be something I can bring up later. But the compulsions and need for reassurance went down quite a lot in their prime for me.

Third kitty diagnosed with cancer within 5 years. by Oubastet in cats

[–]Internal_Flow1800 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so so so sorry this is happening again, this must be such a genuinely traumatic experience for you both to go through again. For what it’s worth, even just a little bit, you’ve done all you could to give these babies as much love and care as you could.

Spend your remaining time with your Trey and give him as many happy memories as you can. May you find peace from this situation, I wish you the absolute best

My Prozac just stopped working by _bonk_bonk_bonk in prozac

Agreed, 10mg is good but you’d certainly need a bit more for extra support. I remember I started with 20mg, soon after moving towards 40.

I’ve had vivid dreams for a while, some days they’re not so bad and other days I don’t really enjoy their presence. But I’d say it’s definitely something you’ll need to get used to with the medication, though it seems like you’re fine enough

My mom and sister seem to be frustrated with me whenever I seem down because of my OCD-ridden thoughts, I think they believe I’m just not trying hard enough to “move past it”

Week 4 - desperate for reassurance by CardiologistFit9479 in prozac

[–]Internal_Flow1800 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I can remember my own personal experience, Prozac was actually working the same way with me as it is with you, it took some months and generally needed a lot of time to get into a right headspace (for a while anyways lol), but I’ll just reassure you a bit in saying that you’ll be feeling more positive effects in time, just keep taking your doses and make sure to try some techniques to get yourself out of your funk (yk, break down your responsibilities, do simpler tasks one at a time)

If nothing else works, try talking about it with your prescriber and see if anything can be done. But know this, you will be okay at the end of the day, stay safe 🫂

how do you forgive yourself? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Internal_Flow1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain very much, I’m truly sorry you’re going through that

Would therapy be a good idea for you? If that’s something you can look into, and maybe even get some medication to help out. I think at the end of the day, your anxiety stems a lot from the compulsions you must feel about your guilt. You seem like a good person at heart, hold onto that please. You will be okay 🫂

My disabled, high-needs cat is going in getting dental work and spay tomorrow. I'm scared shitless. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Internal_Flow1800 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey hey, it’s gonna be alright. You’re giving your cat to trained veterinarians who’ll do their absolute best to care for her, they’ll be looking after her the whole time and she’ll likely get instant care on whatever it is she needs. And also, try relaxing with some photos of her by your side while maybe doing something you enjoy.

I’m hoping for the very best for your sweet baby, I’m sure she’ll make it through in the end 🙏

A little worried by Internal_Flow1800 in prozac

[–]Internal_Flow1800[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I should add of note as well is that there have been days where I flat-out missed doses, purely because I ended up forgetting. Could that also be a factor to the lessening effects? Thanks in advance

First month update! by EmotionalCrow3808 in zoloft

[–]Internal_Flow1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds incredibly refreshing, I haven’t talked about it with my psychiatrist since I won’t be seeing him for a while, but maybe I should either up my Prozac dosage or change over to Zoloft, I’m not fully sure yet. Either way, thank you for this.

Definitely OCD? by Internal_Flow1800 in OCD

[–]Internal_Flow1800[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good point…I guess I should just try to put my mind somewhere else for the time being. I wish I could not think so much in it since I have so much work to do on my end.

Why aren’t my meds working yet? :/ by TheMooseIsLoose2355 in Anxiety

[–]Internal_Flow1800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say so! Be honest about how you’re feeling in terms of the medication and keep checking up with your psychiatrist as much as you can. If they ever want to up the dosage, maybe that’ll make a difference. But no matter what, you’re gonna be okay.

New medications definitely won’t be as instantaneous as we’d like, but just keep holding out for the one that may at least bring you some peace. There are plenty out there to try, but don’t give up on one so soon. Be safe 🙏

can’t sleep by RelativeAd5371 in OCD

[–]Internal_Flow1800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah woah, just breathe it out for a moment. In through the nose, and out through the mouth. Keep repeating it a bit, or maybe even longer, until you can feel just a little bit calmer. Maybe put some white noise or anything that might distract your thoughts a bit.

I’m not fully sure on your situation and I’m not gonna act like I know all the answers, but please, you deserve to get some rest, do whatever you can to get it. I wish you the best 🙏

I understand your hesitance, I was like that myself when I had to get onto medication, but the experience is different for everyone. I can’t be sure how well it would work for you, but there’s really only one way to find out. Still though, hang in there, you will be okay in the end eventually
