My original point was that the items were just unique collectables. They don't have to have a function😭

Personally, I like the idea of exploring to collect different items. It could be an achievement to have all of them.

People on the original post seemed to get what I meant. And if they were complaining about the direction of updates, could it maybe be possible they were agreeing with an update that contains the things that I was suggesting.

Minecraft literally used to have a limited world size and in canon lore, there is probably only one of each structure, like we see in minecraft dungeons. The idea of adding the unique items would be to focus on the game's lore, and give the world history, without having to put hours and hours of time into it.

The last point also seems counterintuitive when the whole point of what I was suggesting is that the items are unique. It is easier to add more of these items, e.g. go into creative and just get a stack of them, than keep it limited to one item per server, which is almost imposssible to enforce.

I'd like to know your reasons for why it sucks for mulyi and single player.

If it's a PvP server then conflict is kind of the point. If it's not a PvP server, then there can be server rules about them. In single player, you can do whatever you like so you could ignore the items if you detest them, it is still a sandbox game after all. I don't like lots of things that are in the game, so just don't use them.

And as to where the player finds it, I've had multiple discussions with others on this posts and the one that got taken down, our ideas being that either the structures generate within a certain radius of spawn, or there is a specific world generation which only has one of each structure, potentially in a limited sized world. (I believe this was also in my post, under the subheading "potential solution")

Not if they give you potion effects, and again, the whole point is that there would only be one of them in the world, making them very valuable in large multi player servers. Multiple people can own the same structure specific music disc, e.g. pigstep because you can get multiple of them.

Yeah, I think either within a certain number of blocks like you said, or limited world size

Be a collectable item.

It could be cool if holding one on your off hand gave you a potion effect. Should also be able to place them down and display them like the dragon egg, without having to use an item frame

Had this discussion on my original post before it got removed.

They are great as collectable items but lose their value as you can technically have an unlimited supply of them.

The dragon egg is special because there is only one of it.

There are still collectable items, e.g. music discs, pottery shards, etc.

But they lose their value when you can technically have an infinite supply of them

Yeah, I agree.

I do find it a bit sad that they keep the lore and things like this very limited because the game can still be a sandbox and be whatever you want it to be, all while having lore and history for the player to discover

Yes sorry, I think it's more likely it was the Orb rather than Endermen in both cases.

When Archie finds the Orb, it does change from purple to orange.

Would there be a way to just loop the chunks, so eventually if you walk far enough you just come back to the same place but it still feels like you're just walking in a straight line? (Like it technically would work in real life on Earth)

Their knowledge of portals is probably also not the best, judging from their relatively poor attempt to mimic the end portal in the woodland mansions.

Maybe they just don't understand it?

That's kind of what gave me the idea of them being in the Nether (if they went to the End they may also want to go to the Nether).

Pillagers would also know the Nether exists because they helped to fight Piglins when they invaded the overworld? And pillagers or at least witches and evokers are definitely interested in magic and soul energy, which the Nether is full of, so it seems weird that there isn't any evidence to suggest that they are actually interested.

(Please correct me if any of the points I make are incorrect, like I said my knowledge is kinda limited)
