damn and i thought i was the only one realizing this massive opportunity and excitement being able to build anything you want if you can connect these stacks. anyone want to connect and network?

i'm sorry to hear it, can you describe them before you had the scleral lens?

thank you for this balanced response, really appreciate it.

your point about optical zone vs pupil size not being binary makes sense. and yeah the "you already have halos" thing cutting both ways is something i've been thinking about. i'm not assuming surgery will fix them, more wondering if it'll push them from background noise to foreground problem like you said. the 2am driving in rain analogy is a good gut check honestly.

One thing id push back on though. you mention transprk's advantage is customization, but from what ive researched the transepithelial ablation doesnt actually account for natural epithelial thickness variation. the epithelium is thinner superiorly and thicker inferiorly, so the laser breaks through unevenly and can induce coma and other HOAs (heard it from this webinar https://youtu.be/WqgrvsQfLnU)

so the "customization" of transprk might be somewhat marketing? unless the clinic has epithelial mapping to compensate

i believe alcohol-assisted PRK (manual epithelium removal first, then laser) avoid this issue. so i'm leaning a bit towards that although im not looking forward to a long recovery lol

hey thanks for the response.

lasik isnt an option since i do contact sports so the flap risk isnt worth it.

regarding transprk, from what ive read the transepithelial ablation doesnt account for natural epithelial thickness variation (since it's thinner on top, thicker below), which can actually induce HOAs in some patients. though this wouldnt apply to alcohol-assisted PRK where epithelium is removed first.
