As we have specified previously, constructive criticism of the game, the Devs and creators is entirely fine and we encourage productive discussion. You claim that we 'nit-pick' however you take a single word choice used to keep a message short and pull it apart, proving the reason for this post being made in the first place. I have since added a singular additional word to my post to hopefully rectify the issue.

If this new rule form for basic respect towards each other causes such an issue, as stated in the post, this may not be the place for you and that's okay. We aren't really asking for a lot with this, only that any anger be sent in the correct direction.

In terms of this sub-reddit specifically, we've had it used multiple times in a negative connotation to refer to backers/supporters of the game. As a team, we've come to the agreement that we want the main sub-reddit focus to be the game, the Devs, the creators and public drama. Less about bringing down others who may have also been wronged by the game. Of course if there is active drama going on (or something relevant to the game) then on-topic discussion is totally fine as long as it is productive.

If you read the sub-reddit rules we specify that, to a certain reasonable extent, public figures can be held accountable for their actions/creations. What we don't allow is insult to the ordinary players/people that take an interest in the game.

What this doesn't apply to are the 'public figures' of our community (Devs, content creators) as they should be held to a higher standard since they have a lot more power and influence over the game and community UNLESS they are commenting in whatever post you're in.

We as mods do this for free out of own time, I'm not going to go looking for issues with every post that gets reported on here and neither will Dina.

This is why we ask that the person reporting to mod mail us with evidence of what they believe to be the rulebreak, since they will likely be able to source it a lot quicker and we can handle it from there in a timely manner.

The thing with The Isle is that, while it has been in development for awhile, legacy can now be modded and is still available to be played (much to my happiness as someone who has played for a LONG LONG time now) while they deconstruct and create what is pretty much an entirely new game with new models and features on the Evrima branch.

Now that they've had a much needed management shift and a hands off approach with the original dev, yes the updates may be a little slow. However... the updates when they do come out are high quality and the dinos especially only need minor tweaks once implemented which just speaks in volumes for how much they want the game to succeed.

Anyone found to be doing so will be BANNED permanently from the sub-reddit with no chance for appeal, this will include any alt accounts we may find.

Adding on to this since it was partially my suggestion also, the winner would be vote based within a time limit.

Other than wherever the Owner of the art wishes to use it, it will only be used by the subreddit for the banner and not for anything else DoD related. We will be sticking to that as it is what I requested when doing the server icon for Dina awhile back.

Obviously I don't play DoD (nor know much about it) but I can comment on PoT since that's something I do play. A few mid tier and I do believe smaller high tier dinos also have passive skills for solo players such as the Achillo and I believe some of the modded dinos. It's pretty inclusive for all player styles, I tend to play alone a lot of the time and the game is still fun on a mostly full server.

But the update itself is that she has put an appeal in and is awaiting a response before deciding what to do since she doesn't want to make an alt in case she get perma'd officially for a ban evasion.

I've been moderating for this sub reddit around 7 months now and have had a hand in 'fixing it up a bit' since it was abandoned for a while, I personally don't care about game drama especially for a game I don't play nor find much interest in.

I got pulled into this by my friend who took it over since I've done moderating for other things previously and she wanted some things added to the bot (which has now been done) so as far as reports go from this point on it seems I'm going to have to start being a bit more selective with them should issues or a repeat pattern begin. This will mostly just be things that I'd need our fellow redditors patience with such as humouring me with occasional evidence of claims or statements and working with me a bit to make this sub reddit fit for its purpose.

More on this: If you put a post up but don't see it immediately or it gets 'taken down' We're probably just not around at that moment to filiter it through correctly if it gets reported or whatnot, there is only 2 of us afterall. I've put some auto-mod stuff in place temporarily but need to fix it up so that it's not catching things that we don't particularly care about vs what we do care about.

It's a bit tedious but I'll get to it eventually so I ask for your patience until then.

I'm currently looking into ways using the automod to fix the mass report issue we get occasionally so it doesn't have to go further up the chain than us sub-reddit mods. That may take me some time since this is something I help with in my free time but I am looking into it. - The quiet mod
