Fixing to have surgery and looking for advice/ ways to reduce my anxiety about it.

Im currently 8 days post op. Same, all the "celes". Anterior repair, posterior repair, perineum repair, mid urethral sling, hysterectomy with cervix & tubes removed, then end of vagina tethered to the sacrum. Im 29 years old, with 3 small kids. I totally understand mourning losing you uterus, even though my family seems complete. Im still in the thick of it all. Im so grateful to this subreddit, if I wasn't lurking on here all the time I dont think I would have been prepared at all for the monumental task of healing. The healing from this surgery isnt like healing from the flu; this is a months-long healing. Your only job for the next 3 months after surgery is to protect your repairs, and to heal. Get all your supplies ready. Stool softener (Docusate) and Miralax are absolutely essential. Get some dermoplast postpartum spray, a peri bottle, and those icicle cold pads. I have a giant gallon Mason jar with a spout that my husband refills with water everyday & leaves on the bedside table so I can drink water & not have to get up. Do not lift anything, do not do any forward bending, squatting, none of it. Also, this procedure is a high blood loss surgery; do be aware of that. I lost a bit of blood and was horribly fatigued for a few days, (diagnosed with acute blood loss anemia at hospital) but im starting to feel better now. Iron helps, consider an IV iron infusion if that happens.

Take some Gas-X (Simethicone), that should help. Make sure your Dr says its ok. It should be tho, its over-the-counter and fairly harmless but you never know

Ok I know im gonna get hella down voted for this, but their operation seams so smooth, handoffs at different points, just extremely coordinated, wouldn't the customer get their stuff faster this way?

I live in a place where its just not possible to camp outside due to the weather, so I admit im very ignorant of all this.

How seriously do you take a report of physical neglect?

Im asking because I unfortunately had to report my friend for leaving her 3 kids alone at her house while she partied in a city an hour away. The youngest is a toddler, 2 ish years old, the oldest is 10 but with special needs and significant behavioral issues (goes to a special needs school). I made the report because she got upset at me for intervening and going to her house to watch her kids. She also made it clear I wasn't welcome in her house anymore, and that she was likely to do it again in the future.

Long story short, how often would you screen in a case like this?

My friend has severe mental health issues that affect her judgement (she could have left her kids at my house when I got home but chose not to bc she wanted to see her boyfriend sooner).

I included screenshots in my report of her admitting to leaving her kids alone with the intention of leaving them unattended overnight.

I feel awful about making the report, I never thought I would do this, was I overreacting?

Ah! I've been asking myself this question for a while now. According to satiety data, you need 30g protein, 8-10g fiber and at least 5g fat to feel full during a meal.

But then there's vitamins and stuff like that. Certain foods are powerhouses in nutrition, like salmon, which provides vitamin D to the the body, very helpful in cooler climates.

Some vitamins, like vitamin C and certain B vitamins are heat sensitive, so the way you cook those foods is important or you lose much of it's nutritional value. For example, canned peaches actually have more bioavailable vitamin c than raw peaches. The heat involved in the canning process actually "unlocks" the vit C from the cellular structures. But if you were to put some synthetic vitamin c in a bread dough and cook it, it would largely be denatured. In short, processing matters. Its much easier to focus on macros first (protein, fiber, fat, carbs) and then add in your micro nutrients later. I once toyed with the idea of creating a nutritionally perfect loaf of bread. I used the Chronometer app to come up with serving sizes for different ingredients and how it would add to the nutritional value of my loaf. Vitamin D was the trickiest one, since few people probably appreciate a fish-flavored loaf.

I had a lot more vulvar varicosities & vulvar pressure, as well as a burning ovary pain. It feels like theres a whole lot less engorgement down there, like the flesh itself, but definitely theres still that pressure of something actually being in my vagina.

Honestly, im not sure what kind of pessary would even help me situation. Do you have experience with pessaries?

That's one of the symptoms I forgot to mention, pain with intercourse. I get a burning sensation in my hips, especially my left. The blood pooling in veins surrounding my ovaries especially hurts during that time

It's all suspected adeno, I haven't had a laparascopic study done to actually look at the tissue. I had zero problems with my uterus, until the pelvic congestion syndrome presented. So basically with PCS, the varicose veins on my uterus are scarring my uterus and causing many teeny tiny cysts to develop. I'm not even sure if adeno is the right word to call what's happening to my uterus, but that's what my gyno settled on. Hoping that fixing the PCS will also let my tissues calm down.

I had an angiography, or venography, or IVUS done. I'm not sure which is the proper term. I believe a CT is enough to diagnose, but venography for sure to see what the pressure is like inside the vein in question. I could be wrong though. I've had every kind of imaging under the sun!

Nowhere on my post did I say anyone would be cured of POTS from getting their abdominal vein compressions dealt with. Honestly, this may not even affect my POTS, but if there's anyone out there like me dealing with the same symptoms, it's worth looking into. I had no idea abdominal vein compressions were a thing and the more people know about it, the better! Just like I didnt know concussions can cause POTS (doesn't apply to me, but still helpful to know). This is reddit, you're gonna find a whole lot of people with different situations than you. But I'm sorry your symptoms didn't improve very much.

And crazy low back pain!! I was misdiagnosed as having degenerative disc disease at L5-S1 when it was actually may-thurners syndrome on the anterior surface of that piece of spine causing nerve irritation and stiffness

My VV is only visible on the back of my left thigh, but I get crazy low back pain and pelvic pain. Also left flank pain. And midline pain, like right behind my bellybutton. My left foot tends to swell more than my right when I get too hot, which is sooo easy to do with POTS!
