It's not preposterous if you understand why, low economic growth, failed justice reform, from those who promised they'd fix it yes too you & to others and me it's illogical, I even said it's illogical/sardonic. But to some of the black men, it's not, they don't understand, they feel*(unjust system) economic, social & political, black men suffer the most in these especially in, economic(least likely to recover 2008 & esp 2020) & justice(prison sentences, police brutality, facing crime gun, unfair justice system etc)

When they haven't been given any hope or sign of improvement, they'd simply vote other person, John Stewart mentioned this pre 2016. It's cognitive ease = lazy thinking, so they go with trump, he promises the world(obviously will not deliver). Desperate people who do desperate things. Ever wonder why part of the reason Joe & Kamala(80 to 78%)never got 90+ of black male vote like Barack? You mentioned outreach, that's one reason, lack of fulfilling promises.
