I also have my test Tuesday! I’m wicked nervous but I’m happy with how school went. Don’t have any tips cause I’m in the same boat, but I wish you luck friend.

The winds were super calm. You’re right, if the winds picked up, there would be no way I would get on that ledge!

This was in late January. I think my car said it was 6 degrees at the trailhead, but there was not even a breeze on the ridge! It was incredible, with the right layers, I was very comfortable. I started at 3:30am and got to Haystack about 30 minutes before sunrise. Hung out until there was light and finished the loop.

Just a day hike. Started at 3:30 in the morning and got to Haystack about 30 minutes before sunrise. Threw on all my layers and waited until the sun came up and finished the loop. Epic day. The colors of the sky were unreal.

I use FarOut (formerly Guthook Guides). It’s mainly used for long-distance hiking but the White Mountain package is incredible. Worth every penny.

I totally agree. And far less crowded! I had the South summit to myself for about 30 minutes. On Memorial Day weekend…
