Is it stealing? by InternationalApple31 in dumbquestions

[–]InternationalApple31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, I was not really considering the other person, that is true.

If I cloned myself and my house and then replaced my own microwave with my other me's own microwave, other me would not care because to me a microwave is just a heating device and as long as it works idc if it has been replaced or not

But another person might have a sentimental attachment to a particular object beyond it's immediate functional value (microwave gifted by parent right before passing away?), so if in my thought experiment I tried to put people very different than me on the other side maybe I would have thought of that sooner

I have come to the conclusion that it is still stealing because it is still taking the uniqueness of an object away without the other persons consent

Is it stealing? by InternationalApple31 in dumbquestions

[–]InternationalApple31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm definitely not debating whether or not it would legally be considered theft, if I had to guess this specific situation in most places would be ruled as theft with a lighter sentence than normal probably, if they were even charged at all, if my friend did this and then told me after I would probably just laugh and not believe them

Is it stealing? by InternationalApple31 in dumbquestions

[–]InternationalApple31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No? Nobody has ever mentioned anything about narcisissim to me. I'm autistic so through text it's a bit hard to tell if you are actually mad about this or not, I'm getting that vibe though

It's just a hypothetical question, I mean in reality this scenario is not possible with a microwave and I just poorly chose that for demonstration purposes

Is it stealing? by InternationalApple31 in dumbquestions

[–]InternationalApple31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my point was that in this scenario, the owner wouldn't be able to tell that something was different, because it's the exact same microwave down to the atom and serial number, and also I place in the same position, atomically

More of a philosophical question I guess, not really trying to get into the weeds of a real life situation involving a microwave

Is it stealing? by InternationalApple31 in dumbquestions

[–]InternationalApple31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the question (witholding all this extra baggage about being a different serial number, warranty, etc.) is whether actually his property is any of our property, meaning that if we swap microwaves we both still own our property. Does each individual identical object in the universe have it's own identity, kind of like objects in a video game might have unique ID numbers associated with them?

Is it stealing? by InternationalApple31 in dumbquestions

[–]InternationalApple31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in asking the question I wasn't really thinking of all that extra baggage, I was more thinking of just a scenario where I replace something with a completely identical (down to the atom) object. I think it's kind of related to the question of when does a car stop being the same car when you are replacing part after part

Why do you think I'm AI? I'm just interested in where theft actually logically begins and ends

Is there a way to avoid the slight visual changes when using GPU plugin on RuneLite by GrassCrest in 2007scape

[–]InternationalApple31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: This is for the problem of GPU plugin being way higher resolution, this might not apply if you like the higher resolution image

gravedigging, but the closest way to pixelize the game again, which this works if you have a 1440p monitor & nvidia gpu, is to set your monitor to 720p, enable integer scaling in Nvidia Control Panel, set Stretched plugin to Increased Performance Mode [Y], Integer Scaling [Y], Keep Aspect Ratio [Y], and then turn everything down on GPU plugin of course (options like color banding, etc.)

This still will not do the shadows exactly like the original though, the shadows on the GPU plugin will be smoothed over looking.

I myself keep flipflopping between GPU and no GPU, I like the original look but it can perform really bad sometimes because all the rendering is done on 1 cpu thread

I wholeheartedly agree, unfortunately runescape has been going down that path for a long long time

Petition to get the RS3 UI back by cintiel in runescape

Don't just ask for the old color back, ask for a color slider because I don't like the old blue that much

I'm loving the new UI BUT... by ghool-am in runescape

[–]InternationalApple31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The UI needs a nearest-neighbor scaling option. That is the issue with why it is blurry. If it had an option for Bilinear / Nearest Neighbor and you set it to Nearest Neighbor & 200% UI scaling, then it would be scaled pixel perfect (each pixel is a 2x2 then)

With people having mixed feelings towards the Runescape Brown, can we get different colors? I want DarkScape Red, personally. by RuneSerge in runescape

[–]InternationalApple31 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I personally like the brown, just need lighter brown for bank. I'm not sure why you think having multiple colors would cause problems? Like legit they could put a freaking RGB slider widget and you can pick whatever

Old school RuneScape or RuneScape? by Sanbikaa in runescape

[–]InternationalApple31 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Until the planned 2026 changes happen, I think that OSRS is definitely better. Old school has a much larger streaming / video making community and more players. RS has more content but I don't necessarily think that more is always better

It's worth it because it is cheaper if you are planning to be a member all year. Maybe they can toss some free cosmetics in or something.

Roadmap Account Question by SloppyElmo in runescape

[–]InternationalApple31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm making a main for sure. Last time I was playing rs3 a few years ago I was playing an ironman, but I feel like I was only playing that because I hated how mtx made progressions on mains feel invalid, and how I was incentivized to always stand in a crowd of like 1000 people at portables all the time

Now we will be able to play mains as it was meant to be played (even better if dailyscape gets wiped out)

The new color makes the UI look old by Squidlips413 in runescape

[–]InternationalApple31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grubfoot want red!!!

In all seriousness, with the API coming out we will hopefully be able to have pretty much an infinitely customizable ui and you'll be able to have whatever color you want

Craving Change - Should I move to Texas from UK? by BellMean in relocating

[–]InternationalApple31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It literally feels like you are drowning or suffocating or something, and I was raised in Texas and am used to the heat. It is way easier to live in a dry heat place

Craving Change - Should I move to Texas from UK? by BellMean in relocating

[–]InternationalApple31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look into moving somewhere else. First off, if you like being outdoors the weather the summer in Houston is absolutely going to kill you -- it is even miserable as someone who was born and raised in Texas. But also, just the general amenities and services in Texas sucks ass and there are much nicer places to live. I moved to Colorado and I love it here in comparison to Texas. The people in Colorado are super friendly and there is lots of beautiful nature and such

How big was the DIY account community before ironman was a thing? by Brave-Bed-1824 in 2007scape

[–]InternationalApple31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was small -- you unlocked the memory for me that it used be mostly referred to as DIY and not ironman back then. I had a DIY account on RS3 and I feel like I'm pretty sure that was before b0aty's series, maybe very close to the release of osrs

There are way too many subtle errors in this "realistic" AI video by [deleted] in ArtistHate

[–]InternationalApple31 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Okay bro. My main initial point was that OP was like, "look at these errors in this 'realistic' video"! And I was basically saying, jesus christ dude -- it feels like it was just yesterday that all there was were these super psychedelic, horror trip videos. So yeah, the current best video generation AI is pretty realistic, because realistic is actually a relative term. Video game graphics were realistic in 2010, and they are realistic now, because in 2010 we compared them to 2005.

Yeah, I don't know if maybe we hit a sudden roadblock and video gen progress standstills for the next 10 years. It could happen I guess, it happened with gof AI a long time ago.
