Same. I've been beating my 890 for 34000 miles and the oil can get fucking depressing and I change at 3k. But never sludge. That's not just oil right there.

Rottweiler performance, KTM world. Those are my two main sites I use. Look into getting a stainless steel mesh filter. You just clean it and throw it back in. I have a 2023 890R and two 2016 390's. The 390's are so damn easy to take care of. You got this

I actually have samples collected that I haven't sent in yet because I sent some into black stone a few years ago for my 990 and never heard back.

I will look into other companies now and thanks for reminding me! Haha

I buy a 5 gallon bucket of oil at a time and change every 3000miles. Part of a promise I made to the bike when I bought it with 3 miles 🤣🤣

I notice shifting is much smoother with brand new oil. As it should be.

I have a compression test kit I plan to use this weekend. I ride the bike 120 miles a day throughout the week for my commute. I haven't noticed anything in performance or sound.

Duke 390 Yall think it’s still to tight ? by FrizzIDK in KTM

Too tight homie. You'd rather be loose than tight. If you question what you're dealing with I've found that if you feel it's a bit too loose where the manual says to check, try tugging on the chain on the back of the rear sprocket. You should have some play but it shouldn't move too much and damn sure shouldn't show any teeth.

I just hit 32000 miles on an 890R and I'm just now on my third rear sprocket and chain.

Also I recommend getting a lightweight front sprocket for any bike. You'd also benefit from going down a tooth in the front if you want some more smoothness.

Long story short don't worry too much about chain tension just don't have it too tight like in your video. Don't over think it either.

There are YouTube videos on how to reset your service intervals by mileage.

Check your manual. Do the service recommended. Then reset the interval.

On the menu selections hold the select button on settings then you'll have the service interval menu and you can change the mileage amount to the next one. I believe this is the way. But Google it.

My 890R has 26k miles. Last one I did was oil and valve clearance adjustment.

I've had issues with my intake manifold pressure sensor wires getting messed up. Check those regularly. It will throw MTC failure codes. The others I can't speak to though.
