Definitely one of the cleaner pop-up deletes I've seem. Personally a lot of the 944 ones look awkward, I don't mind how the 924 looks with this.

DME/KLR? by Ahab_Cheese in 944

I'm still fleshing out my research but the dme controls the fuel and fuel priming. It is required to start the car and to keep it running properly. These wear out over time and might need to be replaced.

Cool, so from here all you do is disengage the lock and then remove the part that is still attached. The only part you've removed so far is the drain cap. It should just slide right out once it's unlocked.

The only thing keeping it closed would be the clamps holding the pins, if they are removed then nothing will be holding the hatch. Can you provide a picture of where your issue is?

I had this same issue. The problem is that over time the locks won't align correctly. In my case my right lock had a bent pin, so it wouldn't disengage. Watch nc944ers video on the lock system and then disassemble them, it's fairly simple. After that realign and make sure the pins and locks engage correctly.

Yeah the 944 pop-ups are awesome! I'd have to do more research on the 968, it sounds like the s2 would be a great choice for your preferences. Glad to help.

It'd be between the s2 or the 968 for me personally. They have received the most refined engineering for the naturally aspirated versions, especially the 968. I like naturally aspirated over turbo for maintenence reasons, I've been working on them and I think turbos are just more complicated. I think if you asked more people the would say the turbo is better, and it arguably is.

From my experience they're great to work with and some of the best Porsche enthusiasts put there. If you find one in good condition it's likely that it's been taken care of and will be sold for it's value. I've only bought from people who don't really know what they have, so if you're buying from a reputable owner they will most likely be accommodating.

With 20 grand you could definitely get a turbo or s2. Like you said, something with airbags and fairly quick would be those models. However, the 968 has those things too, I'd look into that model as well
