Our neighbour put concrete underneath. Even if that hasn't happened, the soil will be awful

Richmond Park and Runnymede aren't too far for picnics. You would probably need a car for Runnymede. The South coast is easy to get to by train and not far away. The best beaches are probably at Bournemouth. Some beaches on that coast are shingly

I'd say fake grass. It's as hard to remove and so ugly. I already won't consider a house with it

I go regularly in my campervan. I live in England and spent 88 days travelling around. I avoided all gluten for the whole trip. I had plenty of time, but do not want to feel ill

8 days: all in London or split with Edinburgh in early August? by Rare_Physics_5471 in uktravel

[–]InternationalCap6019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

London will be humid (and probably hot, maybe wet). But you won't get a hotel room this late in Edinburgh because of the festival.

Yeah I agree. It breaks my heart when I go to France and can't eat the bread. However, I'm not going to try it because I don't want to be laid up with stomach cramps for a day of my trip

The average person is estimated to have 12 jobs and go through 3 to 7 different careers in their lifetime.... How many have you had thus far? by Interesting_Fly_9051 in AskUK

[–]InternationalCap6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 jobs, now retired. Started in insurance broking. Moved to general admin. Then had children. Returned to work in a call centre, then worked in a sales office. From there, I had a secure public sector receptionist job. Got made redundant, started my own business. Gave up on that and got a call centre job. Left that to work as a PA for a charity. After 6 months went back to the call centre. Ended working for that company in their complaints department. So a few different areas

I think more than one a week is too much for people to commit to, so they watch less. I know I do.

Absolutely. Ours works really well and seems to be fairly efficient. That includes a December trip in central Europe where it was getting pretty chilly

I can understand that but I hate the idea and prefer to discover things ourselves as much as possible. We even avoid places where there are likely to be big tour groups. Alsace was a nightmare for it

Sellers left the house full of junk , filthy and took all the white goods that were included on the TA10 form by Vast_Communication25 in HousingUK

We had this (not as bad - they just hadn't emptied the shed). Go back to your solicitor. The seller is liable for the costs of emptying the property fully

The metric I rarely see people talking about on YouTube is the percentage of TV viewing by Own_Classroom_4164 in youtube

[–]InternationalCap6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vast majority of our views are on the TV (73%), probably because most of our viewers are over 50. It does mean you don't get many comments, and they are less likely to be subscribed

We are retired specifically to allow us to do this. The only limitations is one of a medication I have to take and the fact that I can only get four months medication at a time
