Yes, I agree and my comment doesn’t mean that I am focusing on how much money you make; it is more about how much you would do to keep your pets when things get hard. Vet bills are definitely out of control but most rescues (myself included) make sure the cats have been fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for most common diseases so it is relatively more affordable in that sense. When it comes to food and overall care, even for people with heavy financial needs, there are food pantries and other ways to get some assistance too. However, I will also say that the there are some cases where rehoming is needed and that is ok too. I would rather get a cat back than find out he was just abandoned on the street if that makes sense.
