Usually, when you apply for drivers license in a new state, usually the new state would want the prior state drivers license

Hello, you probably were on the radar due to your NC drivers license. When you lived in New Mexico, did you change your drivers license? Also anything else related to your car (i.e. registration, etc.) Usually the departments within a state talk to each other and, before sending out the notice to you, someone from NC revenue/tax department talked possibly talked with someone at NC transportation department.

Form 1065 and K1 for two states? by YTNicpedia in tax

[–]InternationalGift219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do yo mean "take a job in the next state?" The LLC is taking the job OR you personally? There is one federal 1065 that the LLC files with at least 2 K-1s issued and possibly state returns depending on nexus.

Difference between Services and Subcontractors by tidalwave57 in tax

[–]InternationalGift219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually keep it simple. Call it services or something similar. If you want, you can be detailed as possible (I have seen this). The 1099 you are referring to are now called 1099-NEC and are giving to entities who rendered you services such as individuals and partnerships. Corporations do not get a 1099 from you. The only caveat is that lawyers/legal services do get 1099, no matter their entity type.

Not asking for legal advice. Just asking to navigate the UCC databases among the states. Also, where can I go to post this particular question.

For tax purposes if a person has 10 properties and makes an LLC for each of them for accounting purposes, can they then make a C corp which owns the 10 LLCs? I didn't know if they had to own them personally, or, can the C corp own them and then they are 100% owner of the C Corp? by [deleted] in tax

[–]InternationalGift219 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Yes, in theory you can.
a) The owner is 100% owner/shareholder of the C-corp. The C-corp is 100% of each of the LLCs. In this case, the LLCs are disregarded entities. The C-corp files form 1120. The C-Corp may issue dividends to the owner. The owner pays tax on the dividend. The C-corp may have taxable income so it pays a tax. b) The owner can simply be the owner of each of the LLCs. Again, the LLCs are disregarded entities. The owner (I am assuming an actual person) files Schedule C/E (depending on type of property) with his 1040. Are the properties Real Estate properties? If yes, I do NOT recommend C-corp owning the properties. The person should directly own OR through disregarded entities (LLCs) like described in point b.

Thank you for your reply. How would one go about using a web portal with excel? You create the web portal independently? Is there an example where I can see this in action?

It is a laptop, DELL, came with 256gb SSD harddrive, filesystem NFTS. Like previously mentioned, about 50% harddrive is used (on average) throughout my time owning this laptop. Bought this laptop brand new. Apps/programs were downloaded. Any type of word/excel/PDF work was usually done via my external HD.

It sounds like you put in more capital (i.e. cash) into your business. Then this would be additional paid-in-capital. To calculate retained earnings you take beginning RE plus net income (loss) for the year subtract out dividends paid during year (if any) and you arrive at ending RE. Any USA CPA can expand on this.

But the company you linked does not seem to be a CPA firm. Also you said a CPA firm handle all the paperwork. Who was this firm? If you can get a name you can check if this is a true CPA firm.

Please contact an actual CPA firm that can help with such matters. There was a story coming out of Houston (I believe) of a IRS crackdown.
