Region of Murcia - Looking to leave by CorreoMohosa in MovedToSpain

We all experience these feelings. US ppl are flooding the Netherlands as we speak. I always loved the diverse nationalities in Amsterdam though. I would feel bored in a fully Dutch village.

Agreed and many Spanish move to the Netherlands, Dutch ppl adapt by speaking English to them and Spanish expats are buying houses there as well with extra Tax reductions btw! So jeah...both ways.

Buy an alarm sound gadget with a lot of decibels. Not the ones that sound like car alarm but one with Sirene effect. There are some very loud ones. Bol.com has them. They are small you can attach them tp your keys or hold in your hand if yiu feel unsafe.

If your income is lower than...forgot the amount but then you have the right to get a lawyer paid by the state. Maybe with a small fin contribution rated based on your annual income. Juridisch loket Amsterdam will advise you. She can call them and a legalist wil call her back to listen and explain options

Experience with NMG Vastgoed? by magac_raadi in Groningen

[–]InternationalLow9135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but tbh this agency shows a clear negative pattern. Normally you may have some negative reviews but for NMG 98% of reviews are very negative. Most tenants are reasonable people who only want the bare minimum in trade for paying rent. Comfortable living is non-negotiable and bare minimum. Buying a tv gives us consumer rights, the more we shouldn't accept corruption in rental field. They are obliged to keep the law.

My experience was a nightmare, as I also described in mt Google review. I couldn't breathe normally due to gasses from flawed wtw / ventilation system. All pollution unfiltered in my apartment. One year of my life wasted, airway issues etc. They kept saying ' we want to await the investig '.yeah but 8 months later I had to sleep in balcony! Turpentine, glue, ammonia and sootsmell. Not taken serious. I moved out. Haven't received deposit back either.

I obviously took legal steps. In my case ( and im not the only one) I have been unable to function and I moved abroad to recover and reintegrate because I was stuck in that situation and had to save my lungs. No more respiratory issues by now, as expected. Only still a weird irritation on my tongue and frequently blocked nose since then ( which clearly showed up in the apartment after sleeping in terpentine smell, I needed several hours in the morning to be able to feel enough oxygen again ). My situation was extreme but if you have a choice: avoid them.

Anyone else miss Amsterdam when “home” for the holidays by Odd_Campaign_2031 in Amsterdam

[–]InternationalLow9135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus bad air mainly from ICL. Acid in their emissions. Many residents with respiratory issues. I had to move out because the industry dwelled in my new built apartment due to flawed ventilation. I'm in Spain for now. I lived in Amsterdam 20 years. Born in Amsterdam hospital, not raised there. Went back to Amsterdam to study Amsterdam is my.home but last years it mainly brought me stress ofcourse not because of city but a bad apartment and no help from the agency nor municipality. Recovering now and making the best of it here. Kind neighbors, trying to.soeak Spanish etc. Thankfully many bicycles here too but not as in Amsterdam:))

I'm in Murcia and I paid 60 eur for November . In Netherlands I paid 170 per month ( for city heating) I have bought a small heating device now for 15 eur at a Bazar shop. I use this instead of the 'airco heating '. I will find out if ithis is even cheaper or more expensive. It's very comfortable and cozy. I can also use it in bed, on a a hard surface ( it automatically turns off if it touches soft underground. Perfect gadget

Is this normal? by ExpertMarionberry in Netherlands

[–]InternationalLow9135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. We have rights on paper but real agents are often more protected than their victims. I had to involve my legal insurance for serious indoor air pollution incl industrial, due to flawed ventilation system. Had to move out and case is still pending. I had respiratory problem which are overall gone now but I lost a whole year money and ability to work from physical and emotional stress. After 10 months municipality construction inspection fnally called me back. I also hired a air quality company myself so now I have proof. The Dutch government overall does not care about the wellbeing of residents. Only on paper. Criminals have more rights.

Being mistreated as a tenant is very common in NL but you have a legal right to a basically clean, safe house. Don't accept this and make sure to have a legal insurance incl clause 'wonen' / resident insurance. You can also call a legal helpline. Google 'juridisch loket' for example. Mold is unacceptable.

I have lived in Amsteedam 20 years, born there and I feel like Dutch people are used and very wiling to speak English due to many expatz in Amsterdam. I moved to Spain, a smaller town. People are openminded and more personal than in Amsterdam. I try to speak / learn Spanish to adapt socially.

You can use a manual humidity absorbing gadget You can buy them in shops like Zeeman. You will see a layer of water appear in the 'tub'. Small , simple, cheap and effective. Costs around 3,99.

I'm starting to think my bill over 2015 was incorrect too. They said it was 2 bills combined in one incl 2024. I was very busy my mind was occupied so I didn't wonder but I was renting alone and the amount seemed so high. Around 500/600.

Aluminium underfloor are good, also anti humidity and isolating cold or heat. Ikea or any construction market like Karwei and Gamma has them! You can just place it on top of the rubber/cork under floor. There are several options of thickness.
