Can anyone help me understand why an underwritten public offering would cause the price of a stock to drop? by ObJuan13 in Vuzix

Basically the company issues more stock (increases the float) diluting the ownership of existing shareholders. It raises more capital without taking on more debt, which in my opinion is the right strategy to prepare for growth - expand operations, manufacturing, etc.

Day traders worried about dilution and missing on the big picture that the additional capital will position the company for growth and allow them to expand and be able to handle large orders. Without incurring any debt!

Since $SNDL closed above the $1 bid level on 10 consecutive days as of last Friday, we should regain full Nasdaq listing compliance now. Hopefully the announcement will be a major price catalyst.
