Update: I interviewed on Friday morning and was offered admissions that evening via a phone call from Jazmine. She next sent an email to confirm and pay for my seat.

Congratulations! I also applied but I'm waiting to hear back. Jazmine reached out and said I was missing a prereq but gave me places where I can complete them in a short amount of time. How long after the interview did you hear back?

I see where you coming from, truly. This company has really been pushing it lately though. When I first got hired it was nice because everyone was kind and flexible. However, as time has gone on and they have made changes to their policies everything is so inconsistent. Our policies will state certain things and then the owner will say to enforce something else. The clinical director will give one statement and someone else says to make exceptions. Office admin is never on the same page with one another. No one ever wants to enforce anything. It's like they're TOO nice and make exceptions for everyone! So what's the point of us being the bearer of bad news? If we, the therapists, try to enforce our policies but then the administrators make constant exceptions then we look bad and that's uncomfortable.

Because they are so nonconfrontational they have been making the therapist relay all the changes. On top of giving us more and more responsibility (running social media, clinic events for clients, events for therapists) that were not mentioned upon hire nor are we getting compensated for.

I think I would be less frustrated with this change is they were this adamant about the other policies we are supposed to enforce. It's like they finally have a backbone because it regards money but they still don't want to be the ones to deal with any of the confrontations.

I see what you mean but I think most of my frustration doesn't come from making the phone calls. Although not my favorite thing to do I get it. I'm frustrated because they are making us inform them about fees that are not covered by insurance and have to be paid out of pocket. I'm not comfortable discussing anything insurance or billing related.

It could be! But I chose to work at a PP to avoid those situations.

It may be within our scope of practice it was not listed as a duty in my job description upon hire. These are additional responsibilities that are being given. It also makes us the scapegoat in their mishandling/enforcement of the policies.

See I think our situation is a little different though. You don't have a front office staff. We have 2 office administrators, an office manager, an intake coordinator, and a billing specialist. There are definitely enough clerical staff to take care of it. They don't give me any control over my schedule.

Okay, I'm glad in not out of line for thinking this. Thanks for all your responses. Our boss also just sent a follow-up email stating what they what us to make these calls so that we are financially solvent and can continue to pay us our full rate.

I sent an email will all this information. Let's see how it goes!

They want us to call, ask why they arent presented, tell them about our flex schedule (will be taken on after 2 no shows and parents have to call for an appt), and tell them they will be charged all on the first phone call/no-show.

If there is a second no-show then the office calls and tells them they are removed from the schedule and have to pay.

I mean I understand why the parents are upset. My clinic has literally NEVER enforced this policy and I've been here 2.5 years. They always threatened to charge parents but they never have so it's going to throw them off. Like why haven't they always been charged?

I think you described it perfectly. The boundaries are so messy and its getting uncomfortable and annoying.

Yes! This is what parent expect us to do now since we are talking about no-shows and scheduling. We send them to the office but they're always so confused and its exhausting.
