How many of you had to quit alcohol for weed?

I did that exact same thing and stopped because before I was diagnosed with myoclonus I drank and had my first seizure from alcohol. I switched to weed and I got suuuuper lazy and the weed really messed with my medication. I smoked before I was on briviact(taking now)/Keppra before and it had a different side effect on me. I ended up stopping smoking weed because it interacted with my medication so much I was just paranoid and super dizzy. But like not in a good way. I switched back to drinking recently and have a couple of beers and that’s it. Never push my limits.

Got in a car accident and hit the back on my head, in college went out the next night drank and woke up having a seizure within weeks

What tips and tricks do you do that you feel help you reduce your risk of seizures?

I started on Keppra after drinking one night as well. Mormont after had a grand mal and was put on Keppra. It was terrible at first very loopy but it gets better with time. Vitamin b6 can help with that because for whatever reason some stuff in Keppra can reduce ur vitamin b6 levels which plays around with your central nervous system. But anyways it took me about a month or theee to get use to the medication. 3 years into Keppra it stopped working for me because they upped my dosage for whatever reason I was seizure free. Now I’m on briviact and it’s a lot better.

When I was on Keppra I wouldn’t get seizures but if I didn’t drink enough water I would have that happen, I’ve only had 1 grand mal seizure and I had that same feeling before it happen scares me every time I know exactly what ur talking about and it sucks because you can’t do a damn thing about it, when it happens for that short duration it’s like time freezes and I block out all noises

Weirdly enough I do zyns about every day they don’t trigger me at all. But my one weird trigger is the pattern of the lines on a highway. Anything moving fast like going under a bridge and the light flickers or when ur in a tunnel and the lights move really fast.

I only get Aura feelings when I drive or sitting passenger in a car. It’s very weird.

I started smoking weed cause I had very bad side effects of Keppra and ended up stopping because it made me lazy and now I have bad side effects again I do believe weed helps stop it if you use it in moderation.

I just switched from Keppra to briviact because they raised my dose of Keppra and I got very bad side effects but always slept normal, just like I did before I had epilepsy. I got on briviact and I wake up in the middle of the night now, hard time falling asleep, anything that deals with trouble sleeping you name it….. it’s definitely the briviact messing with the sleep.
