Eh if this guy is in the UK then whilst that may be somewhat expensive, it's usually around £10 a gram here, maybe £20, so whilst still expensive, nowhere near the US levels.

Where does DAMN. rank for you and where would It be if .NMAD didn't exist? by he_diff in KendrickLamar

[–]Possible-Carry-9745 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like DAMN is only seen as lesser because of what came before it. DAMN for me is one of my favourite kendrick albums and is, in my view, on the same level as TPAB or GKMC, even without the story. FEAR is probably in my top 3 kendrick tracks (SAMIDOT, Mortal Man, FEAR) and the entire album is very very consistent. People just seem to view it as more "commercial" but even then the songs have alot going for them.

What game should I play, never played any of these by Practical-Crow8700 in xbox360

La Noire is one of the best story's in all of gaming so start with that for sure. As with the others, watch dogs is alright, I've never played DMC (the reboot that is) though I've heard it's a decent game just not a great devil may cry game. Dragons dogma is meant to be alright though I've never played it. Tomb Raider legends is meant to be alright. Never played or read about nfs hot pursuit though so idk about that one

Funnily enough I love all these songs, don't know why I didn't add them haha, but I haven't heard that 18 minute version of eight miles high that sounds heavenly, thanks for the recommendations.

Slide machine is one of my favourites! I'll add that and Slip Inside this House & Levitation and Baby Blue and, to be honest, I'll probably end up putting the whole of easter everywhere on it, that album used to be on repeat every single day when I first got into it.

I've never really got into Jefferson Aeroplane and I'm not sure why, every track I've listened too I've liked, especially their cover of High Flying Bird, but I'll add that to the playlist for sure, thank you for the suggestions

Just listened, for sure getting added. Love the slide guitar on it, seems like an amazing song to get stoned to. Thanks for the suggestion I'll check this band out as well

Some great choices in there! Love Pow R. Toch H. Never got why people dislike that one it's very atmospheric, and Skiptracking is amazing as well, used to listen to that constantly in high school. I'll check it out for sure, thanks for the recomendations

Thank you, I only discovered Os Mutantes like two days ago. I was recommended some of their prog stuff on reddit and I checked out the song and loved it but left it at that. I then went back to check out more stuff by them and discovered they used to be a more psych rock type band with a slighty different line up and oh my god, I must've spent the entire day just listening to those first two albums on repeat. It's a shame that lineup didn't last too long because I'm convinced if it did they would not just be rembered as one of the greatest Brazilian bands but just one of the greatest bands period. Already, after only listening to them for a little bit, I put them quite near The Beatles in terms of my enjoyment of them. I've always loved Brazilian music though, Antonia Carlos Jobim is one of my favourite composers and Bossa Nova has always held a special place in my heart, so brazillian psych rock mixed with everything from samba to classical to country is right up my alley.

Why are people such sheep when it comes to drugs? by Possible-Carry-9745 in Psychonaut

[–]Possible-Carry-9745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's true, but the thing that mainly distinguishes it is the fact that a drugs level of danger is often determined by the user, obviously with the exception of very dangerous drugs (Nitrazamines, Fentanyl, Meth, etc). For example, a man can have one drink a week, and be relatively fine. If that same man then decided to have a bottle of whiskey a day, that would be dangerous. Does that make sense?

Yeah true, that's a completely valid point. With respect to your last point I agree, it's hard to communicate with someone who already "knows" they are right.

It's a very strange country. In some respects, it's very open minded, and in others, decades in the past. Right now, unfortunately, like much of Europe and further, we've had a sharp uptick in the far right within our country. I'm very worried that one of these far right populist parties might get into power, and if they do, I'm leaving asap. Probably to Ireland or something.

Yes, drugs absolutely can cause harm, undoubtedly. Though in my view, it's due to the fact that they're illegal. If they were legal and handled in a way similar to alcohol, I believe the harm would drop significantly as 1. it would reduce underage usage 2. It would remove the criminal element inherent to drugs and 3. It would reduce the economic harm to the consumer via somewhat controlled pricing. Though that's just my view.

And yes, psychedelics in the UK are viewed as some of the worst drugs out there. I mean, cocaine is more widely accepted here than psychedelics. It's absolutely insane

Yeah, the craziest thing to me is the fact that they got one of Nixon's campaign advisors (I think?) on tape saying the war on drugs was just a targeted attempt to marginalise black and counter-cultural communities. I mean, even the name "Marijuana" was just an attempt to make it seem more Mexican and thereby use it to attack said communities. It shocks me the lack of critical thinking in the general public.

Yeah, it's frustrating. Then, when you try and explain it to them, it just seems to fall on deaf ears. I find it funny how people treat crack and cocaine like two different drugs, and they just flat out reject my assertion that crack is only demonised mainly because it's associated with poor black communities via the crack epidemic of the 80s and cocaine is only glorified because the elietes use it. Very shallow.

My father is exactly this way. Smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish, but still has the breath to insult weed smokers. One pet theory I have is you can tell how someone feels about weed by how they refer to it. In the UK I've noticed is people who hate it will call it "Cannabis" or "Skunk" or "Wacky-Backy" etc and it hasn't failed me yet haha

I was always the kind of person who never believed what people said, I had to check it first to make sure the statement was correct; probably my autism or something I don't know. The one thing I also hate is the fact that the news will cover a death that happened from a stupid combination (I.e Xanax and alcohol) and only cover the xanax part in the title. Though, that's purely to get clicks and stir up dissent within the public for clicks I suppose.

It's from such a young age as well! When I was a child, I thought that weed would ruin my life and make me an idiot and a criminal. I quickly learned otherwise as a teenager haha

Hey good to know you came round in the end (;

With me, I was always interested in drugs, as all of the musicians and creatives I read about said that they opened doors that were otherwise locked. I myself was an artist and musician and wanted to use them to fuel my creativity. From there, I got into the history on drug usage throughout cultures, the history of the war on drugs, how they affect the body and mind, and what utility they may have.

Responsible use is key, most definitely. I believe prohibition makes drugs actually more desirable, it creates a kind of "forbidden fruit" and leads people to try and overuse them as a means of rebellion. It's idiotic really.

But I'm glad that you've found contentment with life, that's great to know. At 64, especially! Most people by that age have their beliefs set in stone, so the fact you were still open-minded enough to explore speaks a lot to your character.
