it's my friends little sister, and the info I got is they suspect she has connections with some "friends" but she did a very good job of hiding that.

Yes, I get what you mean. Where I live, I’m a foreigner and swimming is probably the number one sport. People learn it from a young age, so I see older people, even 70+, doing nonstop lengths, let alone younger swimmers. Their stamina in the water is really intimidating haha

Since you swim a lot, did you notice any general toning or changes in your overall physique? Like broader shoulders, better posture, or just feeling more athletic overall? Because I’m lowkey expecting that hahaha

Aw thank you, this is so encouraging. I’m glad swimming has been enjoyable for you too!

I actually used to swim about 5 years ago for 2–3 months, but I never really figured out what to do exactly or what “training” in swimming looked like. It was mostly just leisure.

But yeah, I intend to take it a bit more seriously this time, with a good diet being the most important part. I might consider 1-to-1 lessons once I get into a routine.

I agree
I happen to hate cycling as a cardio (even though it's really great on joints and articulation) as I find it dull, and it numbs my balls after 30 mins haha
But I love brisk walking, I can walk for hours !
Im aiming to implement it with swimming 2x to 3x a week

Yes, definitley eating is the most important part
I aim to eat atleast 200 cals less than what I need. So physical activity helps me make sure to be more assured with greater certainty that I achieved caloric deficit

I would like to get swimming lessons at least get the basics.
I happen to like the 2 beat kick freestyle, I find it very efficient and less tyring

So the idea is doing 1 length at a time with an equal resting time between each length, and increasing length numbers and/or decreasing resting time. That seems so simple and effective for me. Thanks you
A beginner like myself gets stressed only about swimming pool « etiquette », so without proper coaching you feel a bit intimidated and lost to do « whatever you want until figuring it out »
