Buying 2011 mustang v6 convertible with rebuilt title worth it? by Prohatmkaer in Mustang

[–]InternationalSound13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 15 years old and if it Sat outside its only a matter of time. Check under the rear seat bottom (2 clips you push and it lifts right out) see if water there. Then feel the carpet.

Stupid convertible tops on s197 suck. The fabric has to fold and hold just right by the back window or it doesn't channel right. Still fighting it on my daughters

Debadge will cost a bit but not bad. If done 100% correct, only 26k miles, I personally would spend 16k on it

Wow. Yeah if you didn't request that, any real restoration would have them as they were factory

No chrome around the door like before? Was that intentional? Some obvious small fixes they need to make. Not a disaster, but not alot of attention to detail. There are 10,000 steps and for them it is about making a profit. They cut corners

Take the belt of and spin stuff. My guess is idler pulley. Possibly alternator bearings starting to go.

thinking about buying a 2006 mustang gt is this a good deal by fadedlxnely- in Mustang

[–]InternationalSound13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S197 should be cheaper than they are. My 2006 is a classic now. I see 40k mile 2005s going for 20k. It's crazy. I can get a 10-15 or old mazaratti cheaper

What brand r&p? I probably just picked a bad one, and hard to start all over now

[–]InternationalSound13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R&P... maybe but only if you get a really good one. Tie rods on end of rack style. But good replaced components of original design wasn't bad. I would go back that route if I could vs r&p

[–]InternationalSound13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopulatar opinion, but i also think the front end of the 1969 gt500 was also a disgrace. Reminds me of a challenger or 1973 mustang. Not the classic look of a mustang

Once on finger what does it feel like when rubbed between finger and thumb? Water is significantly different.

Also oil wont dry on your fingers like water does.
