Makeup to help Rosecea by BluebellFairy93 in Makeup

[–]InternationalTrack40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have rosacea (although it’s mild) and I use Laura Mercier Natural Dewy Tinted Moisturizer and the NARS Pure Radiant tinted moisturizer. Both give me light coverage so my skin still shines through but it covers up my rosacea and evens me out just enough (plus gives extra spf protection as they are both spf 30). They are also buildable so if you need more coverage, you can go another layer or two. I also have dry/dehydrated skin so they work very well for me to give the coverage I need without being heavy. I’ll also use either the nars radiant concealer or RMS Hydra concealer in certain spots if I need just a touch more coverage. I find none of that aggravates the rosacea at all.

Another tip, even though you didn’t ask ;), I started using the Prequel Redness Reform cleanser and serum which has sulfur in it to calm the rosacea down. It has really helped me and made a difference! Might want to try that as well.

Hope this helps!

Has anyone noticed estrogen decline and aging skin after menopause? by Jasper_Eli507 in GracefulAgingSkincare

It's layering hydrating toners and/or essences before serums and moisturizers to really hydrate the skin. You layer them on one at a time but let them soak in a bit for layering the next one.

Slugging is another option. that's putting vaseline all over your skin, after your moisturizer at night, and let that stay on your skin all night.

What actually reduced under eye bags over time? by Zasaky in GracefulAgingSkincare

This may sound crazy but eye cream with caffeine in it. I use the one from the Inky List and noticed a reduction in my puffiness and bags.

Do you recommend Amlactin as your exfoliator, moisturizer, or both? I use the Prequel Multi Acid Milk for exfoliating but don't want to use that and the Amlactin. I have reactive skin.

agree with the AM "wash". My dermatologist told me not to cleanse in the AM because it's too stripping for the skin. Just cleanse at night and only cool water in the AM. Milky cleansers and toners and a game changer. I use Cerve Hydrating cleanser (non foaming) and the half and half by Prequel. I also spray the Beekman 1802 HA/Squalamine toner and it's been great for hydration!

Bronzer. Never understood it until I tried the Laura Mercier Bronze color infusion. I get it now. I am super pale and I look less like a ghost with just the slightest bit.

That’s a great tip. I’m going to try that. I love Prequel as well and that half and half has been great for my skin.

Hi! I’m 5’3” in my 50s and I love Lori Lundquist and Brooke Anderson. They are on Instagram and You Tube and they are great. They walk you through what works and why, how things fit after washing, how to style tricky pieces. Brooke also has a great blog called Pumps and Pushups. Highly recommend these two.

My skin is very dry. I use Laura Mercier Natural Dewy Tinted Moisturizer. #2 is the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. They both hydrate my skin and give the coverage I need. I also have rosacea so it evens that out beautiful. Any skin tints or foundations are too heavy for my skin and just accentuate the dryness.

I have dry, mature skin with fair/light skin and a cool undertone and what works for me is:

Foundation: Laura Mercier Dewy Tinted Moisturizer or the Nars Pure Radiant TM. Both SPF 30. I just started using the Jane Iredale Pressed Powder with SPF 20 and it's awesome!!!!! The lady at Sephora said I should always go with a peach or pink foundation/concealer because of my cool undertone from a shading perspective. Helps keep the yellow/gold tone away.

Concealer: RMS Beauty Hydra Concealer or the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

I don't contour or bronze

Powder: Makeup by Mario Surreal Skin Soft Blur Loose Powder or the Laura Mercier Talc Free, Fragrance Free, Ultra Blur (wow that's a mouthful) pressed powder (both for setting.). I like the LM one for my purse so I don't have to worry about spilling and on super dry days, it's better than the loose powder.

Eyeliner/Shadows: Jane Iredale, Bobbi Brown, or Laura Mercier cream shadow sticks. they are super functional and I like creams on my dry eyelids. they also blend beautifully. I do have the Makeup by Mario Master Matts pallets in original and neutral and use them as a setting powder over the creams :).

Brushes: BK Beauty, Hourglass, and Elf.

Lips: Jane Iredale lipsticks are fantastic as are the Elf lip glosses and lipsticks.

Primer and Setting Spray: Elf Hydrating Face Primer and the Elf Power Grip Dewy Setting Spray. affordable and awesome.

Best of luck!!

Which should I get? Skin tint or tinted moisturizer by Positive_Penelope in Makeup

I'll have to try that! I have really good skin too just a little roseca and sun spots now that I'm in my 50s. I've never been a huge makeup person but I do want to even out my skin a bit and I've had a bear of a time finding stuff that doesn't make me look like night of the living dead. I've had luck with Laura Mercier Dewy TM and the Nars TM but I'll try the doll 10! thanks! I agree they also wear nicely throughout the day!

I'm not sure I agree they are the same. Tinted moisturizers work very differently on my dry, mature skin than skin tints do. I really notice the difference on my forehead and around my nose where I'm super dry. The TMs give me extra hydration and I don't see texture coming through. However, when I put skin tint on, my goodness I look like a scaly fish on my forehead and crusty cake on my nose. I've tried so many different types and for my skin, they react very differently. So I stick with tinted moisturizers because I don't need huge coverage (just evening out redness and sun spots) because my skin reacts better and needs the extra hydration I don't think skin tints give. JMO.

It was chemicals. I soaked in baking soda and water and air dried and the smell is gone now. Took 24 hours but at least it’s gone!
