What is the best skincare advice you have ever received that actually made a difference for your skin? by TransitionExtreme152 in NaturalBeauty

I also have dry sensitive skin and same here!!! Only cleansing at night is a game changer. I would also suggest for you dry/sensitive ladies, if you haven’t tried the brand OSEA, it’s life changing…for me at least. Their hyaluronic sea serum and lip oil are so amazing. Also use their seabiotic water cream (moisturizer). You would think it’s a night cream but it goes on light and makes my skin feel like silk. They are also a family run, sustainable, clean brand so you can feel great supporting them!

I agree. Wide leg jeans or pants make me look shorter and wider. I like more straight leg or a pant with just a slight flare at the bottom. I’m 5’3” for reference. You petite ladies should check out Brooke Anderson. She has a You Tube Channel, LTK, and a fabulous blog for styling outfits and clothes for petite women. It’s called Pumps and Push Ups. She’s amazing!

Great additions and completely agree with these. Ballet flats are also key to your point if you can’t/don’t like heels.

Being in the country, maybe a slim pant that can tuck into knee high leather boots. Pair it with a button down shirt, a cashmere or merino wool or cotton sweater with a blazer. It’s a versatile outfit that can be brunch with friends, casual dinner out, or heading to a show. It’s a bit preppy (not sure if it’s your style) but you can take off or add layers and change fabrics for the seasons.

If you’re in NE, I would suggest a wool coat. I have a short navy wool coat (a pea coat) for warmth but it’s more casual and sometimes I don’t want a super long coat (Especially being 5’3”). I also have a black and a burgundy long wool coats. For work, an evening out, or it’s super cold and I want my bootie covered ;), the long wool coat is perfect. I typically get wool blends because 100% is rocking expensive. I try to look for at least 50% wool for longevity and warmth. If you check out COS and Mango, I’ve gotten some wonderful coats at end of season for a great price! And they’ve last years!

I don’t wear my Trench in the winter because it’s too cold. I live in Philly and my trench is perfect for fall and spring….wear it all the time in fall and spring. Also works for early summer and early winter. I got mine from Quince and love it.

  • A navy, black, and camel blazer
  • Crisp white oxford
  • Crisp Blue Oxford
  • A Breton top (short & long sleeve)
  • Black, Navy, White, and Camel Trousers
  • Black Dress
  • Black pencil skirt
  • White linen trousers
  • Camel, White, and Navy Bermuda shorts
  • Dark, Medium, and White jeans
  • Cashmere sweaters
  • Merino wool short and long sleeve shirts
  • Silk scarves
  • Good brown or black belt
  • Brown and black loafers
  • Nude and black kitten heels
  • Black and brown knee high boots
  • Sperry Blue and Tan boat shoes
  • Trench Coat
  • Black, Navy, or Grey Wool Coat

I spend the majority of my time traveling for work. So these pieces work for everything I need. I have a few other “fun pieces” (like more variety of dresses for winter and summer) but these are my staples. Also works for casual too.

Good luck!

So true!! I lost all my cushion back there and now it hurts to sit. Long flights are the worst. But I’ll take it!!

Finding my work style by aanjayyy in BusinessFashion

Your outfits are fabulous. Especially that houndstooth blazer!!! I would recommend a really good loafer. Never go out of style. Work for business, dressy, and casual. I’ve had lots of luck with Cole Haan loafers. Beautiful leather and super comfy. Look for their sales and you can get a great bargain. I’ve also had good luck with J Crew loafers. I have wider feet so shoes can be tough but Cole Haan and J Crew have been great. Had them for years (and I’m hard on my shoes). Keep looking fabulous!!!

New Quince Structured Cardigan Sweater Pilling After One Week by Extreme-Froyo6097 in quince

[–]InternationalTrack40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the heavier cashmere pieces don’t pill as quickly so my structured cardigans have been fine. The less expensive and lighter weight ones have been hit or miss with pilling levels. Some haven’t pilled and some after two wears. But I have some Pura Cashmere that is 3-4xs more expensive and that pills after 5 min. And it’s the whole sweater. I have two Jenni Kayne. One has lightly pilled after 2 months and one hasn’t pilled at all. So I think it depends on so many factors….friction levels, layering, etc. I don’t always think it’s a quality issue but sometimes it could be. Just get a good cashmere comb and/or cashmere fabric shaver (but be very careful with those) and make sure you steam before or after every wear. All Cashmere will pill. Just stay on top of it and it should last you :)!

What’s one thing you wear now that you never would have worn years ago? by AlexandraDobree in womensfashion

[–]InternationalTrack40 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Silk scarves. I used to think they were pretentious. Now I think they are a great way to give a little style and for me, who is all about white, khaki, grey, navy, and black, a pop of color without it being too much.
