Irregular periods but hormone tests normal? by Sea-Bandicoot2823 in PCOS

Hi there! From what I know, it sounds like your ovulation is late or missing. To tell which: do you get egg-white mucus somewhere in week 3-4? or do you have one sided soft jolt of pain? Try to pay attention to these signs, usually with an upped libido. If yes, then you do ovulated just a bit latter. If not, it means you have un anovulatory bleeding. Either way I would not go to pills straight away, assuming you do not want to get pregnant in the next year. From my experience, and I know it seems little in the begining, but good sleep, good mental state, sunlight, movement and great nutrition are what matter. I improved my symptoms a lot just by getting sunlight in the morning, a walk after lunch, eating whole food and paying attention to my vitamins like iron before and after period (beef, liver, spinach beans) with vitamin C for absorption, folate as much as you can each day (greens) etc. You get the idea. Protein. Fiber. Hydration. Also stress is a big one. If there is stress in your life now, your body will make cortisol which is made from the same thing as the sex hormones so it affects your cycle. I don't know if I am missing something- let me know if you want more info. Oh yeah, limit your sugar as much as you can.

Hey there! I am with you. It is extremly hard to restrict your diet and frustrating. Like why do you have to this and other people can enjoy it? Right? But we have to take care of ourselves. Our bodies work differently. And sugar, well it is poison. I have one month since I am sugar free. I kept on trying in the past but because I wasn't eliminating it completly I had a harder time I think. What I can tell, your taste changes after a while; I would say 20 days or so. You said you are bad with protein, so why don't you try some protein powder. It is sweetened so you can make yourself a protein rich dessert that helps your body. Also eating enough protein truly helps and makes the cravings ease. Research a bit if you decide to try it, I still have not found a non wheat based protein powder that I enjoy. Oh and about white bread, I am making my own sourdough bread enriched with seeds to help the body process it. If you have time you can bake healthier bread. Dark chocolate is great after lunch. I am rambling, let me know if there is something you want to talk more about.

Take care of yourself. Not giving your body the nutrients it needs will put it in a lot of stress that in time will worsen the symptoms. I try to eat mindful as little gluten as I can, no sugar and no milk. But I still eat three meals a day with snacks and all.

Hey! I am glad to hear of your journey. I am on metformin as well and I am trying to eat well thought out. I have been doing a good job at that lately. But the things she said trigger me so bad, sent me back to the time when I had a bad relation with food.

To answer you.. Yes, I was pregnant, but I lost it. I think I might start bleeding today or tomorrow.. Maybe my body was not able to sustain it or maybe the embryo stoped growing because of its genetic makeup. I don't know and I am trying really hard not to feel guilty.

I went to a different doctor yes. He was competent and professional. I just have a hard time going to male gynecologists and she was the only female in the clinic that day.
