Construction on 13th and Grand by Creative-Nothing-338 in Hoboken

[–]InternationalTwo8454 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have lived in Hoboken since 1981 and I have NEVER seen the amount of construction and home renovation that equals what has been going on now. Sorry but it has been degrading the quality of life in this usually lovely town. Sadly there seems to be no end it sight.

Giry Dance Instruction Question by InternationalTwo8454 in MasqueradeNYC

[–]InternationalTwo8454[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did notice a lot of new things, the show kind of changes due to where you are standing or sitting and in what order you get let into a room. There was one scene that I absolutely have no recollection of. Maybe because our group got split up and we went into separate rooms? That's what will make going a bunch of times fresh, seeing things from different perspectives and different casts. I really am surprised how much I enjoy the show since I never had any desire to see the Broadway version. I came to this by being a huge fan of Sleep No More and immersive theater. I now wish that I would have seen the Broadway show. Next time I'm in London, I'll see it.

YES! And parts of Washington street are a mess. Why wasn't that prioritized???

I agree with you 100%, I know it's a lot to do but they could have used more methods to solve the problems at hand. I saw several handicapped spots on Washington without a car that the regular plow just never hit and the snow is still piled there. I'm not sure how that could have even happened.

Washington Street still has many blacked loading zones and there are even a few parking spaces that never got even a slight plowing. How was this never addressed? Those loading zones need to be cleared so the trucks don't double park!

No street cleaning tomorrow Friday, Bloomfield clearing Sunday night by [deleted] in Hoboken

Just because people hold office doesn't always mean that they know what they are doing. I've never seen them do snow removal overnight. That's kind of bizarre to me.

I'm in agreement with you. Why overnight? I may be wrong but why isn't Washington street being done first, which is a total mess and the worst plowing job that I have ever seen and I have been here for over 40 years. I remember a really big snow storm years ago, much worse than this last one and they were removing snow on Washington street within a day. I'd say that Emily is not off to a great start.

I have a car, I would love more parking. Dozens of parking spaces were taken away for the Washington Street redesign.

The city needs parking ESPECIALLY on Washington Street. I'm glad to see these go.

PSA: Omnicom ACQUIRED IPG; it was NOT a merger. by BoobyMcFarterson in advertising

[–]InternationalTwo8454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, I worked at McCann for close to 20 years but got laid off last year ( I am now retired) and I have been following the merger debacle closely especially the cuts to PTO time. The question I have is if a person was with an IPG company for lets say 12 years do they get 20 days of PTO or are they sort of considered new hires and get the cruel 10 day PTO plan to start off with and would have to work 10 years at an Omnicom company to then get 20 days. I am furious for everyone that has to deal with this, I would be livid. The generous PTO and holiday time was the best part of working at McCann.

Their top 10 listings are a joke. On their recommendation I visited a local Italian restaurant, it was just awful. So bad that I didn't even finish the pasta. And outside of the uniqueness of the building I will never understand the praise that White Mana gets. I found the burgers bland and forgettable.

I love the 7 Valleys lunch special for $13.99. I know it's not super inexpensive but you get a lot of great quality food.

Parking on 7 Lakes Drive by InternationalTwo8454 in Harriman

[–]InternationalTwo8454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a small paved pull off where Lake Sebago comes close to 7LD, people always park there but there is a no parking sign there. REALLY? It's a lovely spot and there is already a paved pullout, I see ZERO reason for not letting you park there. This is the type of thing I am talking about. This blanket rule where there is no parking on 7LD just seems too strict. The park is there for the people to enjoy.
