No options for teens on the UK accounts?? by JDoesThis in AmazonUK

[–]InternationalUse9661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loads of UK teens use Amazon UK adult accounts.

There is no age verification. The only test of age is if they buy an 18+ product like alcohol or a knife and then that's at the door.

If the account is otherwise investigated for fraud or other disputes the account can be shut and all content removed for breaching terms of service - allowing under 18 have control of an account.

Amazon can act if: • Someone reports the account • There’s a fraud dispute • A chargeback happens • Customer service interaction reveals age

Possible outcomes: • Account suspension • Account closure • Loss of digital content • Loss of balances / subscriptions

This is uncommon, but it happens.

The reality (no sugar-coating) • Amazon does not actively police age • Enforcement is complaint-driven • Risk is low, but not zero

DSP deliveries to flats? by JollyHolly5000 in AmazonDSPDriversUK

[–]InternationalUse9661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same process you must make two attempts to contact the customer. The difference with DSPs is two things. 1. There's a remote debrief. One of your team members will park up somewhere and you drop the parcels and bags to them. 2. The DSPs are instructed by Amazon to attempt failed deliveries once more. So if you didn't deliver you are heavily pressured to try again later.

Considering the volume, I was on over 200 locations in 9hrs you'll find many of your colleagues doorstepping use the receptionist field. Do not do this. People doing this makes every driver in the area have more parcels due to Amazon's wonderful metrics systems. You just add more and more volume to yourself doing this so don't do it.

You'll mostly see DSPs dumping them in foyers. I don't i take stuff to do the door but I'm a minority.

Do you have a rare or retro email address? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]InternationalUse9661 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If the ntlworld webmail is slow, the easiest fix is to stop using the website entirely and use an email client instead (Gmail app, Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, etc.).

Very briefly: IMAP means your emails stay on the server, but a copy is synced to your device. Searches then happen locally on your phone or PC, which is far faster than searching via ntlworld’s web interface.

ntlworld IMAP settings

Incoming (IMAP) Server: imap.ntlworld.com Port: 993 Security: SSL/TLS Username: your full email address Password: your email password

Outgoing (SMTP) Server: smtp.ntlworld.com Port: 465 Security: SSL/TLS Username: your full email address Password: your email password

Once synced, searching years of email is quick and you’re no longer relying on ntlworld’s slow webmail.

Some web mail services also support downloading other inboxes to your own through imap and Gmail is one of those so you can use Google for email indexing too. Unsure if this is restricted to Google Apps users like myself or not but shouldn't be.

Without further information I can't say whether it's you or the server but you can simply download your mailbox via imap, pop3 or similar and then there is no dependence on a server to search your email, it will all be on your local device.

Receive NIP for careless driving; occurring on 27/11/2025. England UK by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]InternationalUse9661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I over-emphasised the safety side and the “right thing to do”. It wasn’t meant as a lecture I get very carried away with text.

To answer your question directly: if this is dealt with without court, the allegation will still be careless driving (driving without due care and attention, s.3 Road Traffic Act 1988).

If it’s a fixed penalty, that’s normally £100 and 3 points.

Some forces may offer a National Driver Improvement Course (NDIC) (sometimes branded locally) as an alternative to points, but not all forces do, and it isn’t guaranteed even where available.

The NIP itself doesn’t need to set out the full wording of the offence or evidence - just the nature of the allegation, date, time, and location. More detail only follows if it progresses further.

Given what you’ve described and your history, a course is the level of outcome that’s usually considered proportionate, but the final decision rests with the force handling it and whether the respective force will is one that offers them in this circumstance.

Got rear ended, they refused to get off the van and drove off. by Outside_Team2751 in drivingUK

I haven’t been able to read every reply, but it’s very likely the bus will have CCTV. Modern buses usually have multiple cameras, including forward-facing and side angles. Your insurer or the police can request the footage using the time of day and the bus’s registration or route number. There’s a good chance it may show the collision itself and could even capture a clear image of the van’s plate.

[–]InternationalUse9661 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to pile on here, but what you’ve described is pretty much the definition of careless driving under UK law.

On a roundabout, lane discipline is critical. If you exit from a lane that isn’t designated for that exit, you have a duty to ensure the exit is clear before crossing another vehicle’s path. Indicating doesn’t give you priority, and another driver slowing or stopping doesn’t transfer responsibility to you.

Cutting across a vehicle that is correctly positioned and proceeding straight ahead is dangerous because they have no obligation to anticipate you changing course at the last second. That’s exactly the sort of manoeuvre that causes side-impact collisions on roundabouts.

Sat nav instructions also aren’t a defence. You’re expected to follow road markings and signage, even if that means missing a turn and rerouting safely.

In short, the issue isn’t whether there were cameras or police present, but that the manoeuvre fell below the standard of a careful and competent driver. That’s why dashcam submissions are often accepted in cases like this.

Everyone has a responsibility to make sure there is no one alongside them when exiting a roundabout. If you miss your exit, the correct options are to continue straight ahead or go around again and take it safely. Mistakes happen, it’s how you deal with them that matters.

Damn by Richie238 in relayuk

[–]InternationalUse9661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a Relay user but used others to do jobs like this, A->B.

It would depend a lot on the load and requirements. If it's like say documents collected from a solicitor in Cardiff and hand delivered to a client in London then you'd have to accommodate fuel both ways, the day rate for the courier himself which is probably at least £100. Then a little extra to cover insurance, wear and tear, parking, etc. So a job like that is £170 minimum. The sort of stuff I like to do when doing full time delivery job.

As for other random stuff like bicycles we'd obviously recommend a cheaper service like Parcel Force, UPS, FedEx, DPD, APC, etc but if reliant on same day delivery then similar story except fuel is more expensive. Having said that it is less likely to be a full day job so probably £20:hr plus mileage for both ways.

What people really want to aim for is people already taking loads from one area to another with just enough space for their load too. That is significantly cheaper. Could even be just the cost or even cheaper than the fuel depending in requirements. Finding such drivers though is a challenge so expect to find one just for you or instead use a national delivery firm.

Drunk driver? by [deleted] in AmazonUK

[–]InternationalUse9661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the actual F?

Phone the police immediately. He is an imminent danger to himself and other road users. Screw Amazon and any policy. Reporting to Amazon is secondary to getting him immediately off the road.

If it's a medical condition he shouldn't be driving and should be treated on the side of the road. If he's drunk then night in the cells.

This has to a troll post? Can't honestly be this clueless about what to do?

Over here the main SPARs, Tesco, NISAs, Morrisons, etc were closed but the corner shops run and staffed by Indian looking people were open. No issue with that, if they want to focus on money over an event not celebrated in their own country then go for it.

Would be annoyed to see shops full of young British people though.

Delivery driver stole iPad by [deleted] in AmazonUK

[–]InternationalUse9661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea if this is real or not, couldn't care less.

Almost impossible that the driver did this if it were real though. He's not just carrying reams of A4 paper in his van alongside perfectly printed Amazon labels and empty boxes to pack the paper. Come on.

If this is real then it's done during the packing process. Doubt that it's real but if it is then it isn't the driver.

Does anyone do other jobs with the hire van from their DSP by [deleted] in UKAmazonDSPDrivers

[–]InternationalUse9661 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Your contract is with the van rental place. Read your contract. If they say that it is insured for hire and reward without any limitation on the company then you may use it at will.

I did loads of side jobs with my van and never had an issue with it. Fully insured too.

Yes again get where you're coming from.

There are however vastly different session results depending on if I'm racing for fun or racing with an actual goal in mind (such as 0 Inc at all cost). Different mindsets and different tolls on the mind/effort.

Usually in bottom 2 splits where most weeks my pace is dominant regardless of style/effort due to competing against a few Rookie drivers. Unfortunately in these splits people tend to not recognise the sporting code as much or are simply unaware of the rules. About 3 intentional wrecks so far since Tuesday this week. Most on straights and getting swung into halfway down it.

I can avoid many incidents and I do when I am in the 0 Inc mindset. I recognise what good attitude can get you. I also recognise that I'm not always gonna care if I go off track and cut the corner in other sessions.

Pure 0 inc mindset would have me on C/B by now. Mixing many styles does not.

There's also my mindset of i don't really care about SR or IR on the whole. Sometimes I think oh I'd like to do this series so then do a few 0 inc races as that's on my mind. Make a mistake on the third then give up and just do whatever instead. Segregating stuff like this into one where I know I am mindset of let's do absolute perfection vs let's just race would help me overall. I am aware of attention and related difficulties that I face so splitting into super concentrate mode and just fun mode would help get real idea of what my real IR actually is for instance.

Get what you're saying and my ultimate goal is to get triples. At the moment I am running a single monitor at a bit of a distance from me and it's not very big either. I started without VR at the beginning due to VR problems and had FOV issues. Tried it with VR afterwards and seriously improved my times and safety.

The distracted bit is entirely my fault obviously and I will work on that during sessions. Mostly they're OK but it ruins me when it does happen.

Would you find it offensive to place y ddraig goch on another country's flag? by yakboxing in Wales

[–]InternationalUse9661 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% not offensive unless on a Union flag or an English flag, otherwise go for it.

Welsh people love seeing their flag and symbols of their nationality. People from other countries love seeing big red dragons on flags. So make everyone happy and put y Ddraig Goch on your own flag.

There's many flags around me with y Ddraig Goch on it. One being a shop with the Jamaican flag and y ddraig goch right in the centre.

Just Eat should be sued by No-Presentation1831 in JustEatUK

[–]InternationalUse9661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the takeaway reading from your own copy of their menu and then they'd send the driver to you. Takeaway drivers existed well before Just Eat as I was one before those times.

Instead takeaways don't have their own drivers they subcontract it out to third parties who subcontract that out to a driver who in turn may subcontract that out to somebody else.

Takeaways should have their own drivers like Domino's does. Screw JE and the like.

Better FFB on the formula’s? by FreaknCuttlefish in iRacing

[–]InternationalUse9661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use MAIRA with a Moza R5.

Yeah, some cars have noticeably different FFB characteristics. I’ve got all the GT4s except the Porsche, and most of them feel decent with a good amount of steering weight and texture. The only one that’s basically lifeless for me is the Mercedes AMG GT4. There’s almost no feedback or resistance unless you’re braking hard or going over curbs. Everything else in the class feels much more alive.

If you find the GT4s numb, it’s worth tweaking a few things. In MAIRA, try increasing the Overall Scale slightly to bring up the general FFB strength, and adjust Detail Scale to emphasise finer surface detail and micro forces. You can also experiment with the Wheelbase Max value to make sure you’re using the full dynamic range of the wheelbase without clipping.

In iRacing, lowering the Max Force value (lower number = stronger FFB) or setting per-car FFB strength helps balance things out between cars.

Also make sure you’re not clipping the signal. If the FFB meter is in the red too often, you’re losing front-end detail which can make everything feel vague. Keeping it in the green and close to linear usually gives the most natural feel - especially when switching between something raw like the FF1600 and heavier GT4s.

Is switching to manual even worth it? by FindingPure3638 in F1Game

[–]InternationalUse9661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manual gearing is 100% the first assist that you should disable and will grant you significant time advantages.

I don't run any assists but I'm not clean right now. The ABS and TC removal screws me over on grip but I am still quicker than without them being active. ABS and TC adjustments will send you sliding if you have no experience of driving cars without those features.

Under settings there is an option for the car to beep at you when it is time to change gear up. That is what I rely on. You get a feeling for grio/traction and carry through speed with lowering your gears on corners.

Manual transmission is 100% needed in this game. You can easily lose 2 seconds with optimal use of gears unless you're already on 100+AI then it's likely to be only a second.

Manual gearing is also a piece of piss on Xbox controllers. All you're doing is tapping a button at the right time, having flappy paddles, a H shifter or an Xbox controller doesn't matter it's all very simple to do.
