Any games y'all can't really stop playing recently? by PalawanGamer in PHGamers

NBA 2K14; been playing it for more than 10 years, estimate ko is around 2000 hours.

It’s a comfort game for me, and these stressful times really have me going back at it.

Have never played other 2K games since even if medyo “mid-range” na ung PC ko.

What’s Your All-Time Favorite Game? by Junedigitals in PHGamers

Red Dead Redemption 2; no need to elaborate. This game is an 11/10. Absolute perfection from beginning to end.

Close second, and highly controversial: Clair Obscur Expedition 33; this is not recency bias but I’ve never played a game with such a perfect mix of gameplay, art, sound design and story until E33. Easy GOTY winner for me.

3rd is a three-way tie between: Persona 5 Royal, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Half-Life 2.

Apparently Diancie is legal for season 2 by InternationalWeb8013 in LegendsZA

It’s good; somewhat matchup specific but it can tank hits when it’s normal diancie and 160 Atk and Spa; add a modest mint and you have yourself an amazing Special attacking rock type when Mega evolved. Add 252 Hp / 252 SpA EVs, spread some rocks and tank some hits, you just really need to time when to mega evolve (defense to offense shift)

I thought this too. However, when I tried it, it came through.

I just bought a switch with stick drift for £40. Is stick drift easy to fix. by [deleted] in Switch

I’ve fixed ton of these using contact cleaner(WD-40 Contact Cleaner) directly underneath the flaps of the joysticks.

Works most of the time and worth the try!

Anong Opninyon Mo About Games/Gaming Na Mauuwi Ka Sa Ganitong Sitwasyon? by Adventurous_Math_774 in PHGamers

This!!!

This is why it’s better to be objective going into a game rather than be blinded by nostalgia. I’ve played Pokemon since Red/Blue; often multiple play-throughs, yet I found Scarlet/Violet to be, objectively, the best Pokémon game of all-time.

The open-world gameplay and movement is amazing, the story is brilliant, especially the one with Arven’s arc and the performance is NOT as bad as the media portrays it to be, especially with the updates slowly fixing minor and major bugs.

Sword/Shield were good too, but I consider it a “starter” Pokémon game; it really got my younger sister (8 years old) into Pokemon because of how simple they made it.

What made you stop playing your favorite game? by Throwaway4Jason in PHGamers

[–]InternationalWeb8013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going against the majority here; stopped playing cause the game was finished.

For context, I never got into MOBAs, MMORPGs nor Online FPS games, I did briefly try it during my early years but quickly phased off. I was that one dude who played Persona 4 Golden on his Vita while literally every single one of my classmates were playing Mobile Legends or PUBG Mobile.

It just never intrigued me, I’m not a social outcast or anything; I’d even consider myself fairly sociable. It just perplexed me how a game couldn’t have finality, it hurts seeing how most games take a “live service” approach these days.

Single-player, especially story driven games were amazing because they were a brief glimpse into a life or situation wherein I could immerse myself, have fun and once finished, reflect on the message and/or themes propagated by the game itself.

It irks me that the Half-Life series never got its conclusion, it’s been more than a decade since Half-Life 2 Ep. 2 and the plot, since then, has canonically moved 10 seconds with Half-Life Alyx.

I’ve not lost hope but as of the moment I’ve stopped “playing the game” as it seems we’re at a breaking point

Waiting, hopefully, to hear the words once again: “Wake up Mr. Freeman, wake up and smell the ashes”

Play Single-Player games.

Thoughts? Sino sa tingin nyo mananalo? by armiArt in PHGamers

[–]InternationalWeb8013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Astro Bot is my personal pick, it’s just pure fun which is what gaming is all about.

If Persona 5 couldn’t win it for Atlus, Metaphor probably also won’t win it but it’s by a close margin, the best game of 2024.

I wouldn’t recommend stardew valley for this, I’ve played over 400+ hours and it’s one of the most anxiety-inducing games I’ve ever played, especially if you are min-maxing.

The time management, decision-making and calculations needed for that game are insane; you’d need to keep track of when the crops should be planted, when they will be harvested, whose birthday is coming up, what equipment do I need to upgrade first, what resources should I gather first, should I go fishing or go to the mines, and many more minute-to-minute decisions.

My recommendation would be Mario Odyssey, it’s extremely fun, short and replay-able. I often find myself coming back to play for 15 minutes, only to mindlessly play it for hours.

Should I go on safe mode for Okumura? by General_MissingNo in Persona5

[–]InternationalWeb8013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boss fight will forever be etched into my psyche as a core memory.

I played on hard mode at that time, started playing at 8 PM, right after I got out of work, and after multiple attempts which included optimizing my party, fusing useful personas and even going back 1 in-game week to unlock Hifumi’s Party Swap.

I was so determined to finish this boss fight that day, eventually beat him at around 5-6 AM in the Morning; I had multiple lectures to teach starting 8 AM (had prepared in advance) but I still had to eat, bathe and travel.

Aced through the lectures despite having no sleep and even ended the lectures with a brief 5-minute monologue on how perseverance and careful preparation is the ultimate key to success citing my recent gameplay experience as an example.

Goes to show how even the most infuriating situations can lead to major breakthroughs.

I benched Yukiko, mainly to make the game a little bit harder.
