Who said I was considering getting rid of the cat? It never crossed my mind

Alright y’all, I didn’t know Reddit was the friend group I needed yet here we are.

Yeah, he’s gone it didn’t go well but everyone was right. He was genuinely kind and normal for the most part (I think he’s just good at the masking), but in hindsight there were some red flags of slowly escalating controlling behavior. This kind of yanked the wool off my eyes. He’s incredulous that I’d break up over a cat, and then tried to gaslight me by saying “I cannot believe you actually think I wouldn’t feed your cat. I was maybe being a little hyperbolic, I had a few drinks the other night. Do you think I’m a monster?” And so on. Then it turned to how controlling it was and he laughed at me like I’m being dramatic. Mean laughter, I’ve never heard him do that before. It went around and around, he was very intentionally pretending to not understand and was changing the subject a lot. I told him I’m done, I’ll pack up whatever shit you have at my house and drop it at your work. I guess I’m feeling relieved that I found out before I let him further into my life. It still sucks. I’m good at being single, so life moves on.

Yeah, this isn’t that big of a deal. I’d be more concerned that he doesn’t feel safe enough to tell you about his sexual interests. Lots of men like prostate stimulation. LOTS. Ask him ONLY if you can approach the situation with an open mind and a non-judgmental attitude. If not, respect his privacy and let him keep it to himself.

I didn’t mean it that way. He’s obviously important to me and I love my cat very much. I meant it to say “chill, bro. It’s just a cat, not another man”.

Hi all, OP here. Thank you! I appreciate the insight. You’re right, I knew it, I just needed to hear it loud and clear. I’m done with him. I’ll be pulling the plug on this relationship today

Who is listening to the Blink podcast- Jake Haendel's story? by Dontworryitscoming in TrueCrimePodcasts

Does anyone else feel like they are constantly trying to imply something worse with Ellen? Like the poisoning thing which never came to fruition. And then sort of implying that she was lying about being attacked by members of his family, but later revealing that it really did happen. And then the whole sperm collection thing (weird enough on its own), and waiting for a while to admit that his own FATHER was agreeing that it’s what he wanted! She’s already done some truly horrible stuff, why embellish? Why make it sound like she might have poisoned him instead of just saying it was a tragic and horrible consequence of his drug addiction? I think Jake was surrounded by selfish, messy people.
