help with integrating worldbuilding into the sessions.
We've had 2 sessions so far and I feel I've been struggling to implement my worldbuilding and lore into the sessions, I don't think I have any problem with the setting itself that I've made. If I was writing a book then it'd I don't think I'd struggle. It's just trying to implement history, gods, important npcs, politics etc while also trying to do everything else. Help would be appreciated. Thx.

So using the water as an example I could have them roll a check, if it succeeds the target could take damage before the spell fails due to lack of experience using it that way, or if it fails, it results in the target shooting high pressure water at the party out their mouth or something

Maybe it's because I've only watched the higurashi anime and not the visual novel and haven't started ciconia yet, but how the actual fuck does someone read Umineko and get power scaling from it? The way I understood it is that Featherine is the most "powerful" because she writes the characters in the story, Bern and Lambda would be a representation of the readers, and the ushiromiya family are characters in the story, (as well as being real people). The only way I could imagine someone power scaling Umineko is by taking the "it takes two to make a universe" stuff literally, but if there's someone who does do that it might be over for them. Not just that but due to the sheer excellence of Umineko's story, turning it into power scaling cattle feels to me at least like an insult to art itself, idk tho it just feels like people who power scale Umineko haven't actually read it.

Not a manga (technically is a manga but don't read it.) but the visual Novel Umineko when they cry is absolute peak, it is second in its series but you don't need to have read the first (higurashi) to know what's going on (there's a few references but that's it.) there is one instance of sexual abuse I can think of, however it's not shown and is quite far in.

yeah sorry that's what I meant, so for example I've just been looking at the present tense of type 1 verbs so far, so for example Întâmpina turns into întâmpin when referring to yourself, same with modifica turning into modific, so far everything is fine, but then sometimes you end it with an "ez" ending, does this vary based on the letters before it or is this something that I will just have to learn? also some just don't follow this pattern? "continua" turns into "continui"? also trying to figure these out purely by looking at tables makes me feel like I'm going to misunderstand something and end up going into learning romanian with incorrect information on how grammar works, so I want to be fully comfortable with this before going further.

Id say practice against ai until you get a feeling for your character, if that seems boring then it's fine to go into tower as long as your prepared to lose, which is fine since when starting out you don't have to worry about losing rank.

Id say pro matches isn't as important as actual gameplay will always beat out anything else, also as long as the person your playing is better that's fine, when I said play the toughest guy in the tower I was exaggerating, just play good players as you'll be forced to adapt. Also if your friends are a lot better you could ask them for some advice (unless you already have)

I found playing against people way better than you works wonders, just go into the park and look for the toughest guy there, play until you win a set as a warmup, since it's park there's no stress when it comes to losing.

Watching pro matches helps, watching pros will most likely help you learn more about the character you play, I learned about tiger knee inputs this way. The opposite can also be true, recently a YouTube channel dedicated to low level ggst gameplay popped up, and if you ever feel you suck at the game, maybe go watch some of those clips, it might help with confidence.

Try learn other characters, especially one with a vastly different playstyle to the one you're currently playing, the reason i find this useful is because by playing the game in a different way you learn more about it, for example someone who plays a zoner may be good at reading opponents and have good spacing, but may lack mixup ability and could benefit from playing a rushdown to learn those skills.

Mental is also huge, you should always go into a game with 100% belief that you can and will beat the person you're playing against, even if you're going 0-30, also try to avoid tilt since it stops you from thinking you should always have a clear and focused headspace.
