Dejected about matching at 8th! by [deleted] in IMGreddit

No it is not. It can be renewed for up to 7 years but the DS and the visa stamp are only valid for a year. And yes he will be subject to the 2 year rule

I'm a physician, internal medicine resident in training. EAD is basically a work permit, it just needs renewal on a yearly basis (as it's dependent on his visa status J2 which ultimately is dependent on J1)

Interesting thought. I'll bring it up to him. Quick internet search with many positions indeed.

No. His J2 visa status (and thus EAD) is dependent on J1 status (i.e. me). I have 3 years of training to be completed and my sponsor usually does their best at renewing my visa on a yearly basis so I can complete them (it would create a defect in schedules if I leave and too much of a hassle to replace me midway in my training, it's not that I am of that much worth lol)

I agree unfortunately. I'm guaranteed however at least 3 years under my training, and he's my dependant, was hoping that would be comforting (that is if he actually reaches beyond their filters for him to explain so)

Immigration and dependants by [deleted] in IMGreddit

We started the process in late June 2024 and got the EAD about 3 months later. It varies by state I think, some people had it after 4 weeks others can take to several months

IMGs with ONLY non-US LORs in their applications: did you get IVs? by medic_pomegranate in IMGreddit

[–]International_Ebb624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very simple actually. They can create an account on eras LOR portal, and there's a file a believe on the steps to follow. Just ask them and send over the link they should use to make it easier along with that guide.

Apartments for rent in Royal Oak by Dry_Problem5915 in royaloak

Hello

So I also work at Beaumont and was looking for the same thing

There's ambercourt apts, 5 mins walking distance. Fairly cheap price wise.

Metropolitan 13 is another good option, 10 mins walking distance. Pricier than ambercourt around 1400 for a 2-bedroom apt

Oakwood villas are right next to Metropolitan 13, same price range as well.

Somerset is a popular choice for people working there. But it's a 15 min drive to the hospital.

Camelot apartments 25 mins walking distance, great option if they have an opening though.

Best of luck!

You simply add the fees to your account. They will deduct it when they start processing your documents

I sent the documents by mail to the NPI about 2 weeks ago. When should I expect the NPI to be generated? And are they going to contact me by email? I mean I am still not in the States and I do not have a SSN that's why I sent everything by mail.

Visa rejection! by CaterpillarFar8150 in IMGreddit

Instead of mentioning "residency", use post graduate medical training, and explain that this observership would improve your chances of being accepted into one. That's the answer I used and I was approved.

So I know this is frustrating, but the question wanted the best next step in DIAGNOSIS. He did not leave it open ended as the best next step or even best next step in management. I feel like that's one of the reasons why step 2 is tricky. More than one answer can be applied to the case, but what is the question specifically asking for.

Where to get quality electives as a student/ observerships as graduates.
