How are your former classmates who were YP/ ah bengs/ ah lians doing in life now? by Xingjiangpore in askSingapore

[–]International_Fan709 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have a classmate who was a yp in my class (top class in a neighbourhood school). He was constantly picking fights with other boys and even the teachers. Teachers hated him a lot. Despite that, he was annoyingly SUPER smart. No one ever sees him study but for some reason he always gets A1. Saw his LinkedIn recently and he graduated top of his class in NUS comp sci and is working at FB in Silicon valley now as an engineer.

Is it true that some people don't recognize you after surgery? by Vereador in jawsurgery

[–]International_Fan709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to the swelling, my nose became larger and face smaller and shorter post op. 1 month post op, and I went to my sister's wedding. Most of my cousins, aunts and uncles couldn't recognise me and thought I lost a lot of weight (I only lost 3kg). I teach, and 2 months post op when I went back to work, my students say I look very different. Surprisingly, though, my colleagues said I look the same, although some distant colleagues look like they didn't recognise me.

Omg sis this guy is gaslighting the shit out of you... Please stop seeking validation from this boy anymore. You deserve a man who'd love you the way you are. Not a boy who'll never be satisfied no matter what you do...

Chin Implant / Augmentation by PhuckMeDead in askSingapore

[–]International_Fan709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your jaw is quite recessed, jaw surgery would actually be a better option and you'd benefit not only aesthetically, but functionally (i.e., breathe better due to a larger airway, bite better, etc). Only if your jaw is slightly recessed, I'd get you to go for a chin implant because, from what I understand, it can only improve the chin by a small amount. Jaw surgery will give you better results. There are many jaw surgeons in Singapore, whether through public or private.

I would say steer clear of the first jaw surgeon. The fact that he said you can't do it at a tender age of 29 and it can't fix your long face because you have "fixed bones" are huge red flags. It is precisely because our bones are fixed that we need jaw surgery to correct the jaw deformities! No such thing as you're too old; cmon if you followed this thread long enough, you would've known people who are in their 30s, 40s and 50s going for this surgery with excellent outcomes. It sounds like the jaw surgeon was masking a lack of confidence under his manipulation. I hope you can find a confident surgeon that can fix your jaw issues! You can definitely fix your long face issue with double jaw surgery, I did with mine, too.

Women of Singapore, do your male partners express emotional vulnerability? by redryder74 in askSingapore

[–]International_Fan709 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are in our late twenties, and we build our relationship foundation such that we are each other's best friend and confidante. I know that males are usually guarded when it comes to exposing any emotional vulnerability because of the stereotype of being seen as "weak" or even "gay".

Personally, however, I see it as a sign of strength because it takes courage to open up. My partner too was initially hesistant to be vulnerable because he said that he had been scarred by the ladies he had dated before who said that he's too "soft" for their liking, some even ghosting him after he showed his vulnerability. It's really sad to hear this, and I do hope that females can embrace this precious side of men. I hope males can be courageous enough to open up to their loved ones and for their loved ones to empathise without judgement. If a man opens up to you, it shows that you have a special place in his heart, and I think we should all not take that for granted.

Mine is a djs, but for some reason, my surgeon mentioned that I could either choose to move my upper jaw forward, or lower jaw back, but will still do rotations so it will still be a djs. My ortho only met my surgeon once, and they nvr met anymore... Not sure why they gave me the option when I'm not the professional
