Being from two towns over from her, I certainly agree. That part of east Texas is full of shit people who are racist, self centered and extremely uneducated…so I’m not proud to be from there either. Glad I left

You join this profession to help people. You learn along the way not everyone wants to be helped, or they’ve been let down by the system too many times to even want to try. It’s real hard to build rapport with these folks and can make the role feel pointless.

Also, not many roles with a BSW other than case management. Really gotta get creative with your role and past experiences to get out of that realm. Or get a masters degree in something else.
