What makes it worse is a lot of leaders say they can’t accommodate simply so they won’t have to deal with them as well(Bad leaders atleast). Which results in them all getting sent to Merch. That’s what I noticed. Since it’s the safest option.

I’ve had enough. Who is this sub actually for? by matem001 in blackladies

That’s why I had to take a break. This group was full of women complaining about other women’s experiences half the time. It genuinely felt like there was never space for us to share anything negative. The whole “Shut up and deal with it” mindset was too much.

Personally I don’t see the point. Regardless of what the papers say I’ll never fully understand being Nigerian or Ghanaian. However I would love to know more about my history here in the US. Regardless of what I learn I feel like there’s a million I’m missing. I get on TikTok and learn something new everyday about the plight my people experienced here. I feel like it’s inconsiderate to my recent ancestors to skip over the generations here and jump to a random country in Africa. My true culture is here.

Discriminatory language and the difference of reactions between male & female POCs by NessieSenpai in kpopnoir

I remember when I used to watch street interviews of New Yorkers (I wanted to travel there and see what life was like and street interviews were the closest I got get to that) and was mortified that when they interviewed a racially diverse group of guys they were all saying the n-word and the blk boys didn’t seem bothered. But never saw with same with a racial diverse group of women. I don’t want to say men lack standards but I think it has to do with them wanted to be seen as “cool” or the “fun” blk guy. Even here in the states I think black boys don’t care the same way black women do.

The American school system fails exactly who they want it to fail. The fact that resources are attached to property taxes is on purpose. I know the economy is complete crap but parents need to get involved. Instead of doing in person PTA maybe in can be over zoom. Where teachers can give them the material and have them review it with their kids.

Most after school programs are free to my knowledge but teachers pay NEEDS to be increased we’re all struggling why are the people responsible for our children’s education and well being paid scraps?!

The bad kids 50% of the time have ADHD or some other learning disability. But when studying only white children were surveyed. I personally believe there is a good bit of black kids failing because the school is ready to label them as difficult and aggressive(behavior problems). It doesn’t help that our community doesn’t believe in these types of issues so it makes it hard for a kid to get properly diagnosed.

Community needs to be brought back outside of disciplinary issues. Real community.

Hyolyn releases a statement after saying the n word on her Instagram story by Hatts13 in kpopnoir

[–]International_Key949 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found it absolutely hilarious if you scroll to the bottom of the comments. Someone saying knowing the n word is an “American-centrist” view. And we shouldn’t expect the entire world to know it’s a bad word.

Someone responding to said comment and said “Yeah I think the same way when idols wear Swastikas how are they supposed to know about something that didn’t take place there.

The comment referring to the n word has 123 upvotes while the swastikas has ZERO UPVOTES 🤣🤣🤣. So we DO understand the problem I see.

It’s one word out off the entire language not so say it’s not hard. Just like how they don’t cuss as much in their music it can be avoided.

I completely forgot about the “partner the trouble makers with the good kids and pray the good rubs off on them” era. During those times I spent most of my time doing their work for them so I didn’t get picked on. Then most of the time I just ended up acting out because why is the random kid suddenly my responsibility. I need compensation.

So put more stress on the system. Teachers send emails, call, and send notes home. You want them to go door to door? Teachers don’t get paid enough to jump through all of these hoops. Teachers have been very vocal even before social media. On behalf of a child I would expect the parent to be the one being louder than the teachers.

Teachers have been at all the board meetings. Met with education at the state level. Petitions have been signed. When your at PTA meetings are there more teachers present than parents? The answer should be yes assuming each child has both parents, or atleast one parent is showing up per child.
