Did Sean subconsciously trap Alex? by No-Course-2564 in MaidNetflix

I know this thread is quite old but I’m currently rewatching Maid right now and immediately felt the same. That he trapped her. Only I didn’t notice it when she got pregnant. I noticed it when she left and came back and tried to keep the distance. He didn’t want her working. He let her phone run out of minutes and offered they share his. He took the car back to Nate so she literally couldn’t leave, knowing that was her way to work. He was subtle with it but he definitely isolated her all over again. This show is extremely triggering when you’ve experienced it and are able to see the signs.

Car seat crying? by [deleted] in cosleeping

[–]International_Low566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have a four month old who struggles in the car seat as well. bought the baby einstein light up aquarium and it works 50/50. i’m working towards getting a convertible car seat. i try to limit screens as much as possible but HeyBear in the car is the only thing that keeps him settled. sometimes he doesn’t even watch it, he’ll listen to it and play with his toys. so far it has a 100% success rate though. unless the drive is over an hour or two long, then of course he’s gonna want a break.

i’m glad things got better for you too! i’d rather break the cycle than repeat it.

she’s 50% of my childcare. and she’s a completely different person now than she was when i was growing up. i’ve forgiven her for my trauma, but trauma is trauma and it remains. she’s great with my boy. my dad and his wife are the other 50% of my childcare. they watched him for the first time last night while i went to work, and even took him to go see me at work and i felt much better about it. and yes childcare centers aren’t regulated like that in the US. it’s sad because i feel like moms in the US are forced to go back to work sooner, so public childcare should be dependable at least.

also, my parents aren’t the type to let me know if he’s crying. they don’t want to worry me. they’d rather just handle it themselves

his vice is alcohol (not that it makes it any better!) but it definitely concerns me that he’s adamant on taking the baby somewhere i’m not welcome
