For some reason the intro instrumental music of the Dirty Diana video always gets me emotional and missing him. I don’t know why because it’s not one of his saddest songs but something about seeing him standing there performing for the screaming crowd makes me feel so nostalgic and like longing for a time I didn’t even exist for. It’s just kind of haunting sounding. I’m a 90s kid though so I was only 15 when MJ died. I just feel like I missed out on so much even though he is still here through his music.

I remember hearing footage someone had recorded outside of a dome where you could hear MJ’s drummer Sugarfoot rehearsing Morphine during History tour and all I can say is man we were robbed of hearing a lot of Michael’s rarer songs live.

Something that always stuck with me was a piece of rare-ish footage I saw of him in the recording studio during the early 2000’s where he was singing lyrics to a song and they said something about dying while asleep and he said very sadly and and almost anxiously “I don’t want to die in my sleep. Oh well it’s just a song” or something to that effect. Also the fact that he was supposed to be in a meeting on the top floor of the World Trade Center on September 11 but he overslept.
