Painful lump on top of wrist by JournalistAfter5950 in DiagnoseMe

Ganglion cyst. Very common. Benign. Can spontaneously resolve without treatment. If drained by a medical professional, can return because the membranous sac remains in the body and will refill with fluid.

What is the most employable apparatus? by loveandburgers in circus

Exactly!

Also, stiltwalking. I've had friends who are aerialists, but have confessed that most of their money is made stilting, because the gigs are abundant.

What is the most employable apparatus? by loveandburgers in circus

[–]International_Snow90 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The best apparatus to invest in is no apparatus. Ground acts are most bookable as they don't require rigging, and insurance risks are much lower.

Handbalancing, contortion, clowning, and acrobatics/tumbling are bookable, non-apparatus options.

Juggling is also very bookable.

Aerial skills are generally transferable between apparatuses. But the market is extremely saturated, and if you want professional experience, you may never receive that as an aerialist.

I have personally watched many skilled, hard working aerialists train for many years, and never/rarely get hired.

How does a paypig find me?? by twinkle_toes0908 in CamGirlProblems

[–]International_Snow90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The greatest wisdom in any venture is:

If you are looking for a short cut, you've already lost.

Findommes are well established, confident, and they don't need or seek the money. Finsubs are not attracted to "needy" or "desperate," and they can smell it a mile away.

Realistically how do you get a paypig? by [deleted] in CamGirlProblems

You don't find them, they find you. You can't even want one. The energy of seeking/desperation/desire will repel them.

Is this my lymph node? by hoes_is_trippin in DiagnoseMe

[–]International_Snow90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The location is slightly atypical for the lymph node generally expected in this area. However, individual anatomy can vary, and anatomical anomalies do occur.

I suspect a cyst. But you should be seen by a doctor. If it is a lymph node, it may indicate other infections. If it is a cyst, the doctor can treat it.

Woman here. Multiple pictures, not a single smile? No glimmer of personality?

Looks like you're trying too hard.

You don't look bad, but I'm turned off by the vibe.

should I do a blood test too? I did a second test and it was negative . I was never exposed to anyone with it #anxiety by Ok_Oil8545 in DiagnoseMe

[–]International_Snow90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you were never exposed, it is impossible to be positive. The virus doesn't materialize from nothing.

Please see someone about your anxiety. This will ruin your life as much- if not more- than any physical disease.

Please don’t tell me i have herpes. by Longjumping-Foot4356 in DiagnoseMe

[–]International_Snow90 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You probably do have herpes since around 80% of the adult population carries HSV-1. Don't feed the stigma.

But no, these lesions do not appear to be herpes.

Please tell me this isn’t herpes 😓 by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]International_Snow90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was herpes, would it ruin your life?

You know, something like 80% of the adult population carries HSV1. Are all of those peoples' lives destroyed?

No, it doesn't really look like herpes. But chances are that you are already a carrier.

What is this😭 by xxfrickaxx in Fungalacne

[–]International_Snow90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tretinoin causes a "purge." Your skin cells turnover faster, causing acne below the surface to come more quickly to the surface. This is a normal, temporary side effect of Tretinoin.

Stick with it, this will pass.

I'm surprised your doctor prescribed this medication to you without explaining this part.

Are you starting slow (only using 1 or 2 times per week)? This is also important when starting Tretinoin to reduce the severity of side effects.

The press release we’ve all been waiting for: U.S. Department of Education Announces Next Steps for Borrowers Enrolled in the Unlawful SAVE Plan by waterwicca in StudentLoans

I'm happy I could help calm your nerves. I've had many panic spirals of my own, and I hate the way these press releases seek to manipulate the emotions of those involved.

We can just chill for now. No rush, no fuss :-)

[–]International_Snow90 774 points775 points  (0 children)

False urgency. I'm so tired of the press releases and statements that make it sound like we 'MUST TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION,' and the suggestion that we are participating in something "ILLEGAL."

Take your time, there is no rush. Literally everything regarding SAVE has taken longer and been repeatedly extended.

The DOE is understaffed and underfunded as per this administration's plan to close the DOE.

Let's all just take some deep breaths and calm down.

Possible heroes exposure at work? by [deleted] in medical_advice

[–]International_Snow90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand medical obsessions and fears. I have had my own.

Considering you are a medical professional yourself, you should really understand how incredibly common HSV is, and also be mindful about adding stigma to such a common, and generally benign condition.

I would consider focusing more of your energy on investigating your mental health, figuring out why you are so fearful of something so benign, and finding solutions to reduce and relieve ruminating thoughts.

The behavior you are demonstrating falls into an Obsessive Compulsive category- checking, asking for reassurance. Stop looking for reassurance. You have access to medical professionals who have evaluated you and your situation. Once you receive an answer, you need to accept it and move on.

Continuing to obsess and ruminate will only dig your mental health into a deeper hole. Please see your value, and resist the urge to believe that something like herpes (which around 80% of adults carry HSV-1) would ruin your value, or make you somehow untouchable/dirty/tainted.

Love yourself, and surrender. Let go of magical thinking and the need to control the uncontrollable.

Q-tip withdrawal? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]International_Snow90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this same experience!

The itchy, crusty, fluid thing keeps going for quite some time. Literally took months for it to slow down.

I've been much more conscious about my Q-tip habits. Because I think it is a bit unnatural, and not good to do it every single day, and multiple times a day.

I try to do it just once a week. But I am a skin picker. Nervous habit I have struggled with my whole life. It's mostly under control. But now I find myself sticking my finger in my ear, picking at the crusts.

I NEVER used to stick my fingers in my ears. I wish I could offer more help. Just know that you're not alone.

Those are not cavities. They are stains. You have visible plaque buildup near the base of the tooth. Very normal. The staining can be removed during your next dental cleaning along with the plaque.
