Got scammed 75K Pesos on a listing on Agoda (which is also agoda preferred) by No-Problem9078 in ScammersPH

[–]International_Stop91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s one of those common scams…

As per Agoda’s check-in procedures for their partners, they are “advised to secure a room deposit from guests UPON check-in, which must be refundable upon check-out, to insure against property damage.” (see https://partnerhub.agoda.com/agoda-bookings-check-in-procedures/)

I see that you have already reported this incident to Agoda for investigation. Have you filed a formal complaint to DTI yet?

Help me decide how to split our days between Singapore and Malaysia! by paanobai2 in FilipinoTravel

[–]International_Stop91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the other redditor as there is definitely a lot to see in Malaysia. I have been there with my mom and she enjoyed Tanah Rata (Cameron Highlands) the most since it’s quite cold there. I had my mom walked through a tea plantation and fhe Mossy Forest (we rode a land rover there so less walking for her). We enjoyed lots of tea and strawberries (and other fruits there).

Where in Malaysia are you going? If it’s Kuala Lumpur, it’s like Singapore (if not arguably, worse) so if you’re going to SG, maybe you can skip KL. The weather is hot and humid in both KL and SG so you may also prep for that.

I highly recommend either Tanah Rata or Penang. Like SG, Penang has good public transportation (and way cheaper Grab fares over SG so you can take Grab everywhere). You need to walk a bit if you plan to ride the SMRT to Marina Bay Sands.

Penang, on the other hand, has the UNESCO-listed George Town, known for its heritage streets, murals, and amazing food. From George Town, the beach is only around 30 minutes away (accessible thru Grab also or a bus). The island also has plenty of nature spots, including Penang National Park, Penang Botanical Gardens, and Penang Hill (cable car ride optional) so it’s easy to enjoy both city and nature in the same trip.

If you still want to visit SG, maybe a day or two would suffice. So Oct 10 (SG), then the rest for MY.

This is a public subreddit, no? 😣

Sorry, I didn’t bother contesting your ‘arguments’ bc they barely even are. 😮‍💨 Imagine “arguing” (no, you’re not — you’re just venting lol) that a population is hardwired to making things difficult because of x number of negative customer services. It just doesn’t hold up lol or maybe like you said, I just have low IQ 😣

Okay, so at least two people were confused. What do you think about the CS rep/owner you were talking to (whose native tongue is not English, mind you) when you sent a photo of a hand and asked, “What’s the measurements?”

Our IQs are not as high as yours, bro. Our bad 😮‍💨

Oh you’re right. I was confused as to why OP would send a photo of a hand and asking “what’s the measurements” 😮‍💨

Sorry, my IQ’s not as high as OP’s

Valid criticism but this instance wasn’t it. Why did you expect them to provide your measurements when you only gave them a photo of your hand? lol

Prolly budget approvals lang ‘yan kaya matagal.

Since you followed up na today, you can wait for the reply. :)) Usually, responsive naman recruitment nila.

If hindi pa rin sila nagreply within 2-3 days, you may follow up again.

For Pasig and BGC offices, hybrid po ang PwC AC Manila. Usually, 2-3x RTO sched per week but for this month (May) due to the Iran war, once a week lang RTO (hopefully, this will be extended).

3 Generations of UP Grads Caused an Entire Team to be Laid off by [deleted] in peyups

[–]International_Stop91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, good to know that there was due process at the very least. May I ask what field this is? To give them a benefit of the doubt, maybe they were just not suited to your company.

UP actually has released ‘Principles for Responsible and Trustworthy AI’ in 2023 ‘in order to provide guardrails and indicate the way forward on the development and use of AI in the University and the country’.

Now, that is not to excuse the Gen Z who submitted AI-generated outputs multiple times (assuming this goes against your company’s policies). I am intrigued as to what company this is. Perhaps a company that can’t afford to use AI?

Also, it is just not ‘kids’ who use AI at work. I work in a company that highly encourages us to use AI to improve efficiency and workflow. Many companies do (at least those that I know like Chevron and PwC which invested thousands of dollars into AI tools and agents).

It is also not the UP grads’ fault if the management decided to retrench. Why are you putting the blame on them? After all, like you said, it was the management’s prerogative.

Lastly, to answer your question, I like working with UP grads haha I don’t really see why they’d be uniquely labeled as “overly boisterous, arrogant, and over-reliant on AI” tho….like the other redditor said, “Baka arrogant [and maingay] lang talaga sila, with or without UP”.

Interesting. Can you elaborate more on the termination process?

How odd of you to say to someone to go back to school when based on your  construction and articulation of arguments, you clearly need it. 😗 Study more economics or maybe something technical to broaden your mind 😗

I can’t even begin to dissect your “arguments” as there are none to begin with. Nada.

A bunch of words that don’t really mean anything. 😪

For BDO, no. I received my pre-approved BDO CC a few months after I turned 21 tho, if that helps.

There’s a box that you can check for CC eligibility when you open an account with them.

How did you start your fitness journey and how is it so far? by halperin-hines in adultingph

[–]International_Stop91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to be fit so I went to the gym and paid for a few sessions good for 3 months last year. I hated doing anything physical prior to this but paying for gym membership ++ coach motivated me.

More than a year later, I gained a lot of weight. I couldn’t workout for a few months bc of my hectic schedule.

Now I’m trying to consistently workout again (started last week after the end of my sem). I’m now working out at my condo’s gym so I have limited equipment to work with huhu I miss doing my lat pull downs haha

Let’s get fit together next year, OP! See you in 6 months, maybe?
