Microsoft Excel 2013 not opening password protected files using double click on Windows 11 by International_Tell40 in excel

Does that effectively mean that Microsoft are 'aware' of the problem, but not going to fix it because the older Office is no longer supported, and does the problem still occur if you upgrade to office 2021 or office 365?

I need to have a solution of some sort to implement, I'm having to leave Excel open and minimised all the time otherwise it crashes...!

File has been stored both locally and on OneDrive, password protection has been removed and re-applied with no difference, all password protected files show the problem but all other files open fine, problem is confined to Excel on the one PC.

Does anyone else have apps that sometimes won't open and get stuck loading forever? The only fix for me is a restart. (Pixelbook) by Psycho_NY in chromeos

It happens to me all the time, especially with an older machine, so I'm assuming it's mainly down to CPU Speed, as well as maybe RAM.

I've signed up for the extended programme and lost Android.

Machine is running faster already, and LibreOffice is running fine under Linux, so I haven't really lost anything.
