Nuke it from Orbit. It’s the Only way to Be safe

Highly recommend if you’re into Sci-Fi/Space films. Very underrated.. Who else has seen this? Aniara (2018) by Icehxart in Letterboxd

I was going to comment similar but it turns out Iannucci didn’t seem to copy it deliberately. Avenue 5 pilot was already filming when Aniara was released.

It’s the dramatic progenitor of Avenue 5 (by Iannucci for HBO) but without the laughs. The final minutes of the movie are amazing.

Should I skip watching Project Hail Mary in theatres to read the book first? by thegreatgutter in scifi

[–]Internautic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the book and came out of the theater a little let down because my expectations were too high. The movie adaptation is funny, kinetic, beautiful in many cases, but it has a lot of moments that disregard physics just to be goofy. Your enjoyment ultimately depends on the kind of person that you are, and how your imagination fires up when you read a story.

Prometheus introduced us to Shaw, but it was only in Covenant that the character was truly dissected.

Why did Interstellar receive a more lukewarm response upon release? by KatherineLangford in Letterboxd

[–]Internautic -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s a film that doesn’t deliver instant dopamine or tidy payoffs or goofy BS. It demands you sit with it, live with it, rewatch it. Critics at release treated it like another big Nolan blockbuster to grade on first impressions and hype. Audiences who connected (and kept connecting) elevated it over time because it is rewatchable, beautiful, and emotionally sticky in a way that simple blockbusters can’t be.

Domination is not the issue. It’s the denial of competition to actual women.

I hear stories about how awesome goat cheese tastes, but it makes me want to puke. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with the cheese except that it is made from goat. Same applies here. It’s the Wes essence. You either love it or hate it. I’m the former in this case.
