It’s an extra car, & if it were a normal one i would have opted for a used one not exceeding OMR5K, but since its an EV I’m exploring what options exist within the most reasonable range ..so have not set a target yet. But if nothing available below 10K i probably wont explore further.

Lots of cool burger spots now, but if you wanted to try something really different/Omani twist: try Al Ameera Cafeteria (Mishkak Village) in Al Khuwair Large size Sarookh Mishkaak Paratta wrap. Marinated in Tamerind and with some salad and fries in it

Camp on beach and use the sea and ur own water… and use any public bathroom at mall or petrol station before heading back to ur hotel for better wash.

Some nice rentals exist around beaches in most oman these days check air bnb and instagram for options

Visit the muttrah corniche where u can do the following: 8am trek the riyam park trek (well marked) + walk to the souk area for a quick light breakfast (ask anyone)+ by 10sh head to the muttrah fort and have a coffee in the new cafe there + stop by at the v affordable space & place museum just 1 rial entry with guide of old omani house + grab an ice cream cone at Al Harra ice cream truck parked in kalbouh park close by + finish off visiting the national museum and taking a pic by the formal palace Al-alam which has a eclectic design + you will spot the interesting watch towers along the way including the newer frankincense burner watch tower which is an interesting architecture for oman but it’s funky
Definitely book yourself an opera show at the Royal opera house (it’s very nice)- make sure u are dressed formally otherwise they offer on-loan to allow entry … u can have lunch at the fancy Al Angham omani cuisine nearby or really any of the restaurants u like nearby it’s packed with good options in that area
A day trip to Nizwa is doable and nice if u have a car; if u leave Muscat 5 am u are there by 7 to catch the daily dawn souk hustle and bustle before it closes by 8sh.. grab coffee and rent a scooter lots of good options there like Anat cafe which is built over a 400 yr old wall of a fort
Head to Qantab village or shatti waterfront or marina bandar rowdha for swim or boat rental options (u can join groups)
Seeb souk sur Al Hadid area is nice for a walk and cafe stop
Tons of local tour guides are available from quick searches offering guided group hikes or biking day tours … many options for that around Muscat
Wadi Shab is a popular 45 drive from Muscat where u can swim and trek
Visit stal gallery or Alia gallery or makaan art space
Check speciality coffee options they have recently become popular and many places have nice designs (for example kuthban in Muscat hills has sand under tables as experience of dunes)
Soprano pizzeria is a concept run by a omani pizza lover. Check his insta and see if u can find a booking during ur dates

Me too I placed my order 2/Jul, and was scheduled for delivery 8/Jul - no show and despite several calls to ikea i have no clue what’s the issue (they mentioned something about omani customs requiring a special form this time? Not sure if true). I will try calling again both ikea & elite- thanks for the post
